and I'll have to improve my lousy swedish too !

Try to come to a town with a good student life (Uppsala=) and you'll get to know ppl in no time.

Best of luck.           "What we need to do to allow magic to get hold of us is to banish doubts from our minds.

finding a place in stockholm is hard enough, without even considering the income of a student. its hard, i mean REALY HARD....

Uppsala is nice, Lund also has a university which is approx 15-25 minutes away from malmö centrum by bus... Malmö also has alot to offer studywise, allthou getting a place to stay here might be easier than stockholm but still its hard, unless the school has some project for foreign students..

I study at ORU (Örebro University) at the moment. We got a whole lot of exchange students here, and I'm living in a quarter too so there's this compulsory thing about one exchange student per quarter.. So I'll get to see them often, and besides those who only come here to party and get a swedish hangover - the majority seem to be pleased. Many of the exchange students I've met have chosen to stay in Sweden after finishing their studies, and I don't know what but maybe there's this wicked thing with Örebro in all.

About Linköping University, it does mainly attract people who's into technics, math and engineering in general. If you say that you study there, then people will be asking if you're going to be a civil engineer or something. It's a nice place who does, as Örebro, offer student apartments next to the unversity for a cheap amount of cash. I think it's OK standard and well, if you're going somewhere - be aiming for Linköping or Örebro is my five cents.

Exchange student and international student - are two different statuses for the universities.

Exchange student it's as if I started my university studies here, and that university has partnership with the other one in sweden, then I might be transfered.

International student is on his own comes to sweden and needs to get inside the university with all the rules and regulations and that shit... that's what I'm planning on doing

see if u can maybe talk to those international freaks.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

As I've understood, the biggest problem of the international's and the exchange students are the government. Yeah that's right. Well, you have to be able to show the government that you are able to spend at least 10,000 swedish krone per month - in order to stay in Sweden for more than one year. That was what my friend in my quarter got screwed by this year, so he had to go back to Canada because he didn't had enough. I think my friend can give you loads of more information, so I'll mail you he's adress so you can ask him yourself instead.

KTH - Stockholm and CTK - Gothenburg are the biggest schools but im not sure that means they are the best. Of course you get live in a big city but the smaller schools often helps you out alot more and have more of a community since they have hard time getting students there.
Anyway, check out http://www.kth.se . I bet you can find ALOT of information there.

Nope, nothing. The police here are allowed to take you to leave urine sample if they suspect anything. They are at most parties, civil most always. Most of'em are not that nice either, but I think it's gone better the last years. There are always people on the bong who's not getting caught for sure, but just being able to relax at the party.. Come on, who likes playing "Who's your daddy!!" with a flashlight.. I've grown sick of it.. I don't really know what to say, the climate here is very special... Drugs are tabo (tabu? dunno the spelling) in Sweden, and most people are afraid to talk about it, and if you chose to pick that topic, you're an EVIL DRUGGIE form Mars most likely, and you're rejected by society. Ok perhaps a little bit of a whoa but I think you catch my point...
