Here is the Sponsor Letter that you can send out to friends and family to request donations for the Make a Wish foundation…

REQUEST FOR SPONSORSHIP
On Sunday January 20, I am participating in a dance-a-thon called Wishing Well @ Woodley Park to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation®. Our goal is to raise $10,000 for this worthwhile charity that has helped so many children. Please visit wishingwellwoodleypark.blogspot.com/ for full details on this event.

Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has given hope, strength and joy to children with life-threatening medical conditions. From humble beginnings with one boy’s wish to be a police officer, Make-A-Wish Foundation has evolved into an organization that grants a child’s wish in the U.S. every 41 minutes. Visit their website http://www.wish.org for more info.

I know we all have good hearts and that we believe in helping worthwhile causes and that is why I am asking you to sponsor me for this event. Sponsors make a donation by check or online and I am committed to dance for the number of hours you choose. For example, if you sponsor me to dance for four hours at $5 per hour, that would be a $20 donation to Make-A-Wish. I will then dance for four straight hours to fulfill my commitment to you.

You can also make a flat sponsorship. All sponsor contributions should be made as a check or money order made directly to the “Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Los Angeles”. or via pay pal at http://wishingwell2.blogspot.com

Good times, great tunes

Highlights (I got there around 3):

Scenator - your prog/electro set was awesome! I loved how melodic it was, and it definitely grooved. Kept me dancing; one of my favorite sets of the day.

Swell - I had not heard of you, or seen your play previously. I really like your track selection; really great tunes for the bpm range (fast prog). Your set was melodic, uplifting, and beautiful. I noticed you were having some trouble with the equipment and matching beats on a couple tracks, but I'd like you to know that your set was still a lot of fun, and great to dance to. It happens to the best of us!

Kiva - Great as always! You really got dark there at the end; nice opening for Vasily!

Konflux/Vasily - I got to tell him most of this in person, but I'll post it anyway. I loved the set, melodic night, or darker melodic...I'm not sure exactly where I'd put it; but I liked it. Definitely a different flavor from what I normally see you play, but also a very unique set from what I've seen. I can't say I've heard other people around here mixing that kind of psy before. I enjoyed it, great basslines too!

Brian - I was surprised to see you in the last timeslot when I first saw it. Are you tired of playing the pre-fullon prog set? Anyway, it was nice to see you playing at a new timeslot; showing us some of your other music tastes. Really aggressive, high energy tracks. It was definitely your own vibe there.

I am opposed to the use of the term 'dark' in this context. The music might be heavy or hard beat-wise, but not dark. These days 'dark' refers to over 150 bpm Gothic rock meets gabber type of music. What we were playing at the park was merely edgy, "un-fluffy", and sometimes melodic psytrance.

Awesome gathering on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Thanks to all involved for the constant energy flow and warm vibrations. LA definitely knows how to kick up some dust.

Good time in the park, for sure. I will let you all know how much we were able to gather for Make-A-Wish.

@Kahn. Yes. I had problems with one track. Had it right on through the whole track but then went to restart it and just couldn't get it back. Oh well. Like my boy Hidroponik once said "If a DJ train wrecks and there are no other DJ's there to hear it, did it really happen?" As far as hearing me. I get that a lot. I have been around for a while (Since 2000) and normally play on the prog stage...were the "real" DJ's play. LOL. Anyway, I planned my set poorly and didn't even end on the track I wanted too. This is definitely one I would like to have a second crack at.
Give the prog a chance. It will grab your soul.

Good times had by all...

I wouldn't say it was dark I would say it was more like eggs over easy. Or like the crust on your apple pie or that last drink of milk from your cereal. you know the good stuff

yeah, no dark music was played what so ever it was just serious tuneage. lower octave bass lines with melodies over the top ... really deep stuff.

I loved everyones set, this production turned out so well. I hope we raised a healthy chunk of change for make a wish foundation.

p.s. swell I heard the mix your talking about but honestly it wasn't bad you saved the energy with a good next track thats what counts imo... we are all hard on ourselves sometimes I do that too but your set was awesome dude!!
