Mike A debut album is as close as it gets to floating inside a tea daze in a hallucinogenic ocean while watching blurring images of purple butterflies flying above you. He has been working in his comfort studio in the southern hippy suburb named Beer Sheva for the last two weeks and he is ready to give you the enlightened creatin that will move your spiritual brain waves into another dimention. Mike A used many substrances during that period of time and his psychedelic journey is shown in this holy album, just get it and press > and you are on the roll. Mike is considered as one of the most mighty babas in Beer Sheva, he is able to float in the air, breath through his anus, and even use knobs with the fingers of his feet.
Yalla baba Mike A!!!!

yeah it is funny with all of those silly promotions, but mine is a good one for your album! LOL

I wouldn't to promo texts that promise me the moon and insist on the fact that the "artists" are major figures, or will revolutionate the style, or are the defenders of the true real pure oundaground.. I mean just cut the crap and give me good music ! If it really is, then you don't need to embroider like that.

I second that....

Why bother about crappy text if the content i.e. Music is good.....

You aren't better or have any more of a musical understanding than anyone because you ignore external characteristics of music..
I understand that if music is good, it's good, but lately I've been tired of people acting like they don't/shouldn't care at all about who's making/promoting the content..

Let the music speak for itself. And as far as the texts and write ups go, you gotta have an open mind first if you even want to make an attempt at understanding them. i dont know which ones you guys are talking about in particular, but most of the ones ive read, seemed a bit strange at first, the more u read them the more u get at the core of what is trying to be said. sure some of it maybe be bullshit, and sometimes it gets hard to distinguish between the b.s. and stuff which actually might hold some validity. and it doesnt really help if people get opinionated, and everytime they see such a text, they immediately assume its shit. reality is subjective man, what one man sees, another man might not. sure some promoters might add all these texts just to make their music more appealing. all im saying is dont generalize that this is the case everytime. approach the situation with an open mind. after all, it is for your benefit if you find positivity or spirituality in the music/text, so why deny yourself of such an experience? but i also agree that in such write ups, there should be a balance between the spiritual part(if there is one) and a description of the music or style. if the write ups are good, then they serve their purpose of assisting the listener in envisioning the sounds as well..its all a matter of perception, just like everything else

bOm!

to me it smacks of ol' times. when the connection had some real meaning...now its like selling tomatoes as rotten apples. But I love it! (atleast someone's trying)

"Astral Paranoid has been journeying through the divine cosmos on his acid-guzzling puprle butterfly ever since he learnt to, well, score acid. His super-nirvanic inspirations have been extracted from Mexican mushrooms, P Diddy's nightmares, and uncalculated amounts of soul-stirring conversations with mega-sentient souls of trees, iguanas and meer-kats. Also Shiva, especially in his Nirhakhanda avatar, the giver in the destroyer!

You play. You replay."

There are two ways to promote, Qane.. The smart one and the enticing one (not to write "soliciting"..)..

I love this one :
------------------------------------------------
Imagine...the best artists, the best tracks, the best bits of the best tracks...
... chopped and stretched, and marinated, into the cosmic blender, mixed with tv radio and movie samples, short snaps like looking at a pack ofcards, flipping inside you... rapidly moving images and sounds, cascading you over a waterfall of dazzling riffs and spliffs, roller coasting, spinning, turning sideways, overlapping. The ultimate groovy ride... the magicappears so quick, your're already into the next delusion before you understood the first... Stash Bag four is the one.. beyond the planet shpongle. The secret stash compartment overflows with goodies and unobtainable forbidden delights to mankind... until NOW.

Florid marketing copy is not the only modern trend that cheapens the trance experience. I find that the choice of artist, track, and label names also reflects alignment with the greater movement through superficial "pop" spirituality references or allusions to drugs and psychedelic states of being.

The problem is... what can you expect these people to do? There is no "hard dance" arm of psytrance for the disposable full-on rubbish to overflow into... "psychedelic trance" is the market, and sales are enabled, at least in part, by identification with the cultural trappings of the genre as a whole. That's just how it goes when you associate something nominally spiritual with extreme commodification.

My solution: throw on some Juno Reactor, hit play, turn the volume up. See you in the next world.

It's up to you, or to anyone...to believe or not what a promo text says

If you Listen to the cd, and you really feel a connection with the universe and all that it's great men...it's a plus to what psy by itself makes us feel...

But if you dont feel anything, just listen, just enjoy every sample, every kick, every bass, every sound...

It's all about Psy

Most of that response wasn't directed toward you, but a common occurence in the threads lately..just people acting like they don't and shouldn't care about the people behind the music..

I'm not talking about promoting at all, just the fact that people should mind who's promoting, selling, and making the music.

Anyway I think that if music is good, it should sell itself without flashy commercialism involved.
