Psytrance:

Arahat – San Diego, CA (PsyCircle, Darkstar, Cosmic Theatre)
With a release on Cosmic Theatre and a few in the pipeline on Darkstar, Psybertribe and DARK Records, Arahat’s sound can best be described as hard, energetic dark Psytrance with influences ranging from breakbeat, acid techno, and all forms of Goa trance. Arahat will be showcasing over an hour of his produced material along with released and unreleased gems from all over the planet in a 3 hour live/dj set!!! For more info and sound bites: http://www.myspace.com/arahat or http://tomhidro.tripod.com

Dylalien – San Francisco, CA (Alpha Centauri, Fractal Cowboys)
Also known to be one of the Fractal Cowboys (with Quasar), Dylalien writes dance music that defies description. A fusion of 4/4 beat, IDM-like sound structures, surprising melodies, and off-the-wall samples. So get ready to be taken on a journey that will reprogram your mind and electrify your body to groove to the cosmic pulse!

Bastard – Knoxville, TN (Shapestatic, Geomagnetic TV, Touch Samadhi)
Alex tuned into the otherworldly sounds of trance emanating from the east side of the Appalachian Mountains seven years ago. Consequently inspired to propagate further iterations of futuristic trance music as "the Bastard," Alex's study of electrical and computer engineering focuses on exploiting the psychoacoustic capabilities of analog circuits and digital signal processing.

And local psychonauts:
Pyite – Atl, GA (AtlPsy, Evolution)
Moksa – Atl, GA (AtlPsy, Touch Samadhi)

all the psyparties in atL have been just wicked. great energy, great space and great people.
this one is in a new, even larger space and with fatty daddy sound fx.
not to mention new years eve is one of the hottest nights to party down.
we are happy to have paramnesia and shad who have been two solid players in our chillout scene for years...
oso and nod ripped it up in charlotte last weekend....
iikah will be playing yet another thick ass set of original tunes for shure.
and i should have one or two myself by then...

hidro has been one of the top djs in psy for a few years imo and his tracks have just been getting fatter and fatter especially since he teamed up with mubali... (but you know hes been in training with bodhi too )

dylan was the one who took it up to 170 at Croatan with style and grace like ive never heard before. he is a gift from elsewhere.

bastard has been shredding circuits for ages, from circuit bending furbys to simply rewriting rules nonstop, i cant wait to hear what he brings out...

basically if youre within driving distance,... dont sleep on thissssssssssssssssssss

Good luck guys! Always great to hear about psy scenes starting up in places I would never have imagined a few years ago. Keep building the scene!

nice to see Tom heading to Atl. I just recently spent a week working up in North Cali with a member of the Atl-Psy family and got to hear quite a few tales of whats going on down there.

Really sounds to me like Atlanta is the fastest growing scene in the US right now, and that this crew has the right ideas and intentions.
Wishing you all nothing but the best and a very prosperous new year with your new space

Atlanta's looking like my top choice for NYE...

The only thing stopping me is the outrageous price to fly there from Los Angeles. So far the CHEAPEST fare is $400 RT... If anyone knows of something better, I'd sure appreciate it.

airtran has $369 roundtrip, nonstop service between LAX & ATL.. there are several different flights available if you search your dates on http://www.sidestep.com .

for example:

http://www.sidestep.com/air/select_details.do?uniqueId=5731381

it's pretty much the same price if you adjust your dates and times according to your preference over the weekend.. atlanta is a hub for both airtran & delta, so there is a lot of availability for flights in and out of the city. i wouldn't wait too long on it though, as that price will probably jump pretty soon.

good luck, hope you can join us!

Thanks, sage2012. It's a viable option...

I've gone searching deeper and I'm beginning to realize that there may be even better deals right after TG. Even flying in to a place like Nashville can greatly reduce the fare, but I don't know if I'm up for any adventures in the South on new year's day when I have to return...

I'll just have to keep digging until I get my way... hehe

Thanks again
