The ever-present capacity of writing a lot and not to answear at the same time...
Still buddy, you know if is it going to be or not at the same place as last Psychogarden???

As it gonna b at PG's last edition place I should warn the Sp. Gate crew to pay special attention to the "dance floor" conditions, once its irregular structure really had cut my trip off:weep:...
you know, when you're totally concentrated on your journey and you have to open your eyes not to fall down over the floor...its really sad. Thats the only point against the place, wich is very beautifull with that lake and stuff. Well, i know there's a way to flat down that floor and if it is possible it would help people's impressions i believe...
Well, i wish the best luck to Brio and Feio, serious people with serious projects.

Nice party. Not awesome, but good all in all.
Hux Flux: weird sounds, I really liked their older tracks, very goaish...the rest is just too crazy for me, those guys probably take liquid drops for breakfast...
Human Blue: the best music, I danced the whole time....fucking great, those are MELODIES!
the rest: VOR with a nice set, very israeli, John I didn't like at all, Feio was too dark imo.
Location was nice, infra was good too, but ah those bathrooms...someone must enjoy ruining it for all other ppl.
All in all, congrats to Feio and Brio for bringing some kick-ass artists

To me it was a big disapointment. What i saw was something with no creativity. Everything was just ok, nothing more than that. All parties look and feel just the same, not a surprise that so many people are losing their interest on going to psytrance raves, the biggest proof was the number of people on that party, no more than 700, for a party with such great musical atractions, that's a shame

Well I kind of agree with Luiz and Jean....Hux Flux, too crazy, VOR with a nice set, John with a not nice set, Feio with a 100% Dark set in the morning, Human Blue kicked ass, even though I thought Dag could have made a much more interesting tracks selection like the missing classics Sandal Wood and Electric Harmony, but anyway..Human Blue is always good!
So after all, it was a OK party like Jean said...

I also was expecting something more from Spectral Gate. I mean, they just put the regular formula (tent, sound system, dj) and it was it. I thought the deco was very poor and the dj stage should be a little bit higher, in the middle of the dance floor, I was not able to see the artist very well. But at night, those green lights made a nice effect.
I could not see my favorite artist of the party, Human Blue because I had to leave to play in another party, but I heard it was good.
Hux Flux played too many old tracks, some of it were good, but most of it I didn't like it.
As it was said .... it was ok !
Anyway, I wish good luck and long life for Spectral Gate.
If you need something, Tribe will be there !

I think we´re missing something here. The "regular formula" should be ok for a trance party. What else people need? As for the deco, ok, I agree it´s important, but the stage... I see no meaning in putting it higher. The music is the main attraction, right? I want to hear the music being played properly, not watch the DJ dancing.
At Ypy Poty many DJs, including me, had a hard time playing because of the location of the DJ booth. As it was on the center of the dancefloor, the DJ could hear 3 different beats: the one from the front and back speakers, the one from the monitor and the one from the side speakers. Mixing was a pain in the ass.
One thing that I should say, as I arrived at the party late in the morning, is that 20 security men sitting next to the dancefloor, looking at your face with that "go away" expression, is something very annoying

The dj is part of what is going on at the party, a small part, but still …. It's not only the electronic energy that comes from the speakers (music) that is important, HUMAN energy is also very welcome. So when a dj is playing, you can see the MESSAGE that his is passing to the dance floor, by his music and by himself ... His expressions, his dance, or even when he just stay there stopped.
So, as I said, I think the stage could be a little bit higher …. And for those that don’t like to see the “dj dance”, just don’t look ……

Don´t get me wrong, Du. The DJ is a BIG part of what´s going on at the party, he´s leading the trip of hundreds of people.
I´m talking about something very simple: providing the best conditions for the DJ to play. That is not achieved when you have the DJ booth on the center of the dancefloor.
It´s not a matter of wheter to look at the DJ or not. As for myself, I prefer to play close to the people that are listening, on the same level, if possible. In that way, I can feel the energy that´s coming from the dancefloor much better, as well as transmit my "message" to the audience. |

I did not get you wrong Mau, I totally understand what you saying. I also prefer to play close to the people, but if there is a stage, it doesn’t need to be a giant one, you can see the hole dance floor, what is very good also. I think, the biggest the party is, the biggest the stage have to be.
I'm not saying that Spectral Gate did something wrong putting the dj almost on the same level of the dance floor, I just said that it would be nice if I could see the dj better.
Spectral Gate provided very good conditions to the djs and lives.
