Spamming labels

Hi everybody!

I'm interested in knowing whether I'm the only one getting a lot of spam from other psy-trance labels and party organisers?

I think that it's extremely annoying when they harvest e-mail addresses from label sites etc. and send around one spam per week announcing a party in UK/Mexico/Israel/India/whatever - I live in Finland and I'm really not interested in knowing what happens in other countries when I'm not planning to travel there (If I'm planning to travel I can find out about parties myself), nor am I interested in knowing about the latest releases since I'm a subscriber of the most new-in-stock-lists of online CD-retailers so I get that info as well.

My top two spammers are Kinetik from Mexico and Spliff Music from Israel. The reason why I decided to ask whether everybody else is suffering from the same thing is that I tried to unsubscribe from Spliff Music's news list and I got a reply from their mail server that my host (@tranceformrecords.com) isn't allowed - I wonder whether it's made on purpose to stop them from receiving unsubscribe requests from people. Please do note that I haven't subscribed to Kinetik's nor Spliff Music's info lists _ever_.

I don't know whether it's economically a good idea to spam people, maybe it is if it brings more attention and therefore results in more sales, but I hope that people aren't buying anything that is spamvertised.

Cheers,

Luckily I'm not experiencing it myself, but I know quite a few people who are in the same situation as yourself.           ________________________

tranceform,
unfortunately spam works my friend
One thing you can do is to add their hostname to your spam list. (if you re using web email they ll have something like that. if you re with outlook or such use a rule to automatically delete or move all the email coming from that hostname)           +-+talking with ali3ns around the universe+-+

So you don't have any spam filters?           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

Cubasing is like Freebasing, just with audio.
Both cost more than you can afford, and leaves you sitting in a dark room with no life, craving for more.

So you're saying that somebody is filling your mailbox several times a month with CD's you've never ordered?
