I disagree.

That's the spirit of BM - you want to experience "specific" things on the playa? Do not expect other people to deliver it to you - just create it.

If someone creates something you don't like/disagree - don't criticize it only because it's different than your believs/expectations

If you really want your crown chakra to open you gotta get down to 500 bpm. You silly's with your 180's and your 150's. hahaha true psychedelia exists in the 500 range. anything else is just something your not ready for yet. please           http://soundcloud.com/djkiva

Kiva, I see your 500 and raise you up to 1,260.

Might as well go for a hummingbird's heart rate and see if we can fly!           http://www.vaporvent.com

you could probably reach the hummingbird level with psytrance at only 315 BPM, as solid 16th note patterns are often as prominent as the whole note beats.

conjugate your transients, please!

As to my negative comment, it wasn't trying to be. Yes, I generalized by saying that certain music is too fast for our vision of the camp. But seriously, what music over 150bpm DOESN'T have crazy psychedelic noises? lol. Shit, this is psytrance, all of it--from progressive to faster stuff--has some psychedelic sound(s) in it, no matter how cheesy it may seem sometimes. I guess what I meant when I said "crazy" is that the speed of the music makes the sounds a bit nutty.

And yes, Burning Man is what you make of it. It'd be nice to be the camp that can provide an all-encompassing plethora of music and styles, but then we would just be another electronic music camp. Our direction is what we're going for, and that may not appeal to everyone, but neither is an all-breakbeat camp going to appeal to others.

If people don't like that we're not going to include the harder, faster, darker element of psytrance, I'm sorry, I wish I could please everyone. But our camp is going for the more full-on variety, mostly because the camp members who will spend money, sweat and tears on building it for everyone have every right to listen to what they want to. And besides, we will have a few "darker" DJs playing, just not a whole night of it.

For those of you who would like to see an all-dark or half-dark camp, make one and share it with the Playa! (silly word, "dark" but it serves to describe the style, even if some of it isn't dark) I would be stoked to see more psytrance camps out there for sure! The more the merrier. Psytrance used to be the pulse of Burning Man, but now there's hardly any organized effort to make it heard. I'm happy to be a part of a group of people who are determined to stake a claim in the dust, and possibly turn on even more people to the sounds of psytrance.

That being said, I hope to see lots of smiling faces out there! The lineup is done, and I'll post it here soon.

Against all my better judgment (not that it ever did me any good anyway), I'm taking an apprehensive trip out that way this year to see what it's all about for myself, first hand.

So, I for one, heap a pile of pre-appreciation your way. It's nice to know there'll be somewhere I can party proper, our style, when I need it.

Cheesy poofs!

Yes, there will be some downtempo during the afternoons, and progressive/electro/tech music to start off and finish the dancefloor.
