Southwild is the new side project of Jay from Rastaliens, a veteran psytrance producer from the Black Forest in the deep south of Germany who now resides in Toronto, Canada.
Throughout many years of production, mastering, and DJing, Jay has found his own unique style of high-quality ‘twilight’ psytrance: slightly dark, a little twisted, super groovy and spaced out, with a spark of insanity! Granular represents a free taste of Southwild’s upcoming debut album. There will also be several appearances on different labels such as Peak Records, Mind Funk, and many more–so keep your ears open for further releases! All tracks written, produced, and mastered by Jay/Southwild at Trailer Park Studios, Toronto, 2010.

saw the liveset this summer
very funky, great vibes. very different than his rastaliens stuff - a lot more funk, less melody and ripping saw leads, but plenty psychedelic and great fun on the dancefloor.

Jay's 1 of the best artists around @ the moment, fusing psychedelica & funk into a delicious journey for the mind, hips & ass  We're just as proud as the Wild boyz  to have signed Jay to Mind Funk.
He will be represented on my next VA - "Subsonic Shawnorobics" as well as having a tune on the album done by Ross "Random" vs. friends....so stay tuned 4 more news 2 come from this mad man and  artist soon !

Very nice music by Southwild.
Mushrooms make you do crazy stuff. Look at Mario he jumps on animal heads and fights with dragons. |

After someone noted that "signed" wasn't the right word here, I felt obliged to replace it with mentioning that Jay didn't really "sign" anything but he will release on Mind Funk soon as well and we're absolutely stoked 2 have him some of our next releases
