Paradigm....don't know ya, but it would have been much cooler for you to create your own thread about this BS instead of mucking up this prmotional thread. I for one would love to see this "shit", lol, back on track up in hera!!

Im going to make one more comment and then drop it. Uhm pointed out this is a promotional thread and it should continue like that.
@ Uhm, I dont know you either. but you seem new to the forum, and as such i surmise rather new to the scene. Untill this summer ive never seen your name before. Not dissing, just what ive noticed. Now I simply stated something that is a continuing problem for the cali scene, and at the moment this show is a part of that problem. Im not blasting Mindfull. I was very carefull on my wording to make sure i included reference of other crews that have done the same thing in the past. Being in Texas as i assume you are, you dont have to deal with problems of this nature, probably never will have to. A friend of mine is going to probably loose alot now on his show because of this oversight, and it sucks, but people refuse to do the simple little things and learn from years and years of mistakes.
@ Dog, I dont call people out, but your an ignorant(insert expletive here) Vibrasphere is a scene vetern thats been around for years and years, with albums released before the thought of making trance even entered the minds of the Derrango chaps. No disrespect to them, as they make some crazy and creative shit,but unlike Derango who make a particular sound, Vibrasphere strive to do something new and different with each album. Before you open your mouth to diss other artists, maybe you should know who and what your talking about. Also its hard not to run against Symbiosis. Not that it will suffer from this show, but i hope the reverse isnt the case. Symbiosis is the largest trance event in the country, so i mean come on, thats simple 1st grade math., and Earthdance is a bunch of hippie bands, and a couple of breaks djs. You show how much you know by that comparrison

Im NOT wishing ill-will on this event. I think the date is poorly chosen, but it is what it is., but you all need to read whats wrote in a post before lampooning it.
If anyone else wants to continue the debate, or trash talking by all means pm me.... but at this point unless Mindfull wants to weigh in on this, whats been needed to be adressed has, and the point should be dropped as Uhm pointed out, and the thread for the continued promotion of the event continue

yes, there will be no poo throwing in this thread... 
for clarification i want to say i picked the dates at the beginning of this year after speaking with my friend trevor of greensector to find out when symbiosis was planned and looking for any other conflicting events so wasn't being lazy...
it's a tough time of the year to plan a gathering since it can't be too close to burning man but can't be too much after....goa gil's birthday in early october is usually the last norcal outdoor party and i definitely had to be at least a few weeks from that so sept 14-16 is my best option...
the flights for derango were purchased in june but many changes in location, sound system and lineup kept me from announcing earlier though in hindsight it would have been good to get the word out even with unconfirmed info...
in the end i wish the best of luck to other organizers and hope their events turn out well in all regards....i'm certainly not trying to compete with anyone for money, i knew source sync was going to cost me thousands beyond what i'll get from admission before i ever committed to it....i do this out of love for the music and to help our scene grow so let's move past any silly conflict to enjoy the incredible west coast psy community we're blessed with!

w0w! ....I must say....really x 10 looking forward to this megaparty / minifestival upload-download with perfect California forest (this spot is the cat's meow of the emrald triangle), raging xlr8r flambe, & the freshest and nastiest sounds hyperspace have on offer. What a phenomenally tasty, diverse, & globe-trotting lineup.
and....whatever event one decides to go to.... consider what a perfect time it is to put aside our little tiny differences in taste and opinion to celebrate a vision of our One planet unified in the act older than ye ol' Tower of Babel herself and stomp the dust and cobwebs out; to feel the nice feeling it is be human and alive in this body and at this time....it's temporary yknow...so enjoy it fully.
In this spirt I'm certain all events will be a huge success. |

there is a tribe called http://tribes.tribe.net/sf604events i actually created about 2 years ago to prevent colliding dates, that mustly all sf promoters use as same as the sf604 list to announce their dates.
i dont see any competitions between source sync and vibrasphere at all!
i remember vibrasphere in the goa age but that was years ago for some people they have moved to different styles some stayed to those that enjoy vibrasphere will definitely go you cant even compare it..
paradigm were you planning on coming to source sync or whats the troubles?

One too many parties is better than no parties at all.... In fact, I believe there is no such thing as too many parties!! Keep 'em comin!
Ahh!!! I can't wait for this party!! Derango pre-party anyone? All these parties pop up right after people disperse from BurningMan.... I guess that's what happens when people want to keep the party going! And for all the people that attend Burning Man, more than one after party is essential! No wonder there are so many parties in the month of September.
To all party throwers- thank you for keeping us alive! I know it isn't easy planning a party and trying to make it be at the perfect time. You are no doubt appreciated by many. |

I COMPLETELY agree with Julie (Subocaj)!!!
We are discussing the "unfortunate" situation of two parties in the same state on the same weekend.
HOW LUCKY CAN WE BE?!
I know of people who arent going to Symbiosis because they'd rather do the Derango, Ghreg, darkpsy thing, and can only afford one event (besides the fact that it would require TWO travels to NorCal)
I know of people who simply CANNOT STAND the trauma sound - and are BEYOND ecstatic that Vibrasphere is in town.
In fact, the audiences for these two events make a Venn diagram that has such a small overlap, it really doesn't matter to either promoter...
Paradigm is VERY correct that promoters SHOULD be in contact with each other about event dates AT LEAST a month in advance so that noone loses a mint worth of pennies and nickels. If a promoter does not attempt to communicate, they have no right to cry over ticket sales that wouldn't buy them a nice dinner at Wendy's.
Two respectable promoters in the same city throwing a party on the same day and literally FORCING the local scene to decide would just be cruel. If Greensector were to throw a party on the same day as an annual Psytribe event (or maybe vice versa) ... I would be visibly upset...
Bottom line is - communicate your intentions if you are worried about having your audience shriveled, and not to worry if the events differ greatly in taste and location - AND DON'T DOUBLE-SCHEDULE IN THE SAME TOWN! |

Goa Gil or Silicon sound was the decision in May. It might have been hard for a few people, but for most the decision was made before the conundrum was placed in front of them.
IMO, both have the potential to kick ass - at the same time.
Personally, I fall into the "More people I care greatly about are going to be at Derango, but I can only afford one Norcal trip in September - so I will just have to 'deal' with a KICKASS proggy act near home with the REST of the people I care greatly about" category.
The people in Montana with no parties AT ALL must ever-so-jealous.
