So, as I am working on a live set I have come to the conclusion to get an extra soundcard for my live sets... Needs to be cheap, reliable with win 7 64 bit and have a stable driver ...

What would you recommend?           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

been using the audio 2 dj for months now - works like a charm, super stable on win 7 64.

No inputs though so its for completely in the box setups only.            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

Echo Audiofire 2..best choice..

got 128bit oversampling, good signal to noise ratio, big dynamic range, very clear kinda rme sound , balanced outpus, stable drivers, and is pocket small almost like a pack of ciggis..

http://www.echoaudio.com//Products/FireWire/AudioFire2/specs.php

compare to other cards in that price range, you wont find something with better specs..

cheers

Been using the Focusrite Saffire for the last 2 years. There is some bad rep for it on the net, but all I can say is that I never had an issue with it on my OSX Macbook Pro.
Separate headphone outputs (x2) with dedicated pots, latencies low enough for me to trigger stuff live with no pops and/or clicks and it nice and compact.
If it means anything, Synthetic/Dado/Deedrah used the same soundcard when we played together in Athens a while back.

Peace out.

driver is ok on the echo but still not great but it s stable enought.. for the price and the size i m happy with mine, no idea how it work on win 7.. sound is good, i like it more than rme specially for live, the low end is nice and the sound is not as sterile as rme but maybe a bit veiled on the highs but it s not a issue for live

you better try depending your computer it may be more or less stable, work great on my pc, on mac it s less stable but i just got a few software driver crash in maybe one year of use..
rme software never crashed on my computer ,if you want stable rme might be a better choice but again it can depend a lot of your computer, firewire chip...

check on gearslutz man there is probably lot of talks about these interface, the probelm is that you will always find what you want to read..if you want to read this card is better than this one you will find it..you will also find exactly the oposite lol

Motu Ultralite is the shit. Seriously, awesome interface - and enough I/O to use as your main interface, or at least a good travel companion.

I was using a borrowed one for about a year. Super reliable, stable, built like a tank... I'm using an Apogee Duet now (Mac and all) and I'd seriously consider buying another Motu for the for a studio interface and backup live interface (cuz' the Duet's jumper cables freak me out).

oh man - I just checked out the ultralite and that may be my next upgrade.

Looks tasty - and with aspirations of a multi-computer+hardware live set.....mmmm....            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

I am also currently looking at the ultralite, would be great if I could hear more motu users critique, concerning drivers. Thank you Loki for the input!           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

Ask Timo..he owns one..i actualy do not hipe it so much..the sound is a bit muddy imo compared to others and there is limited routing options in the internal mixer as well..

funny thing he even owned the echo audiofire 4 before but needed more inputs so he can definatly answer all your questions regarding sound , drivers and usablity..
