maybe you´d prefer the terms:

-"free space" (which enables the individual to experience his inner self and break down religious/ social/ sexual etc. boundaries, beyond commerciality/ ego etc.)
-acceptance/ esteem of every individual
-to overcome silly and superficial society small talk (again: ego)
-or simply a place for letting go deep feelings/ emotions

or what terms (besides simple fun) would you chose?
ever read psychedelic literature (tibetan book of the living and dying/ the psychedelic experience/ the doors of perception etc.)?
you´re right if you say that most people on parties don´t know nothing (and aren´t interested in anything elese besides having fun or fucking up their senses etc.) about all that, but to me (and many psychonauts out there ) this is a shame and lack of education (as if soccer fans didn´t know anything about the rules and the history of their sport...)

PSYCHEDELIC CULTURE IS DEEPLY ROOTED IN PHILOSOPHY, BUDDHISM, SELF-EXPLORATION, TOLERANCE, LOVE etc.
it´s NOT ONLY MUSIC.
the aim of the music is not simple fun or entertainment - for those purposes we have mainstream-discos and such places.

Maybe we shud NOT have political discussions in this forum.

Not because its bad but eventually i does lead up to something nasty. Im actually pleasantly suprised at the maturity of this discussion. Considering all the crap goin on in isratrance as of today.

The whole point of the psychedelic Culture is having no socio-political boundaries. When it Bloomed in Goa earlier, we had freaks from every angle of life and society. Didnt stop them from makin great music and being happy. Im sure they didnt have these discussions. In fact, they probably ran from them.
Lets just stick with that.

But the Goa days are over. We are older and more hopefully more mature. We cannot run away forever. Someday we will have to face the issue of our identity as a culture.
I know these discussions can be tough, but I think they are important.
Imagine a world where nobody cared enough to to sit down and talk about how to make things better, nobody cared enough to love. Do you really want to live in a big free-for-all with no compassion or care for the future?
What kind of world would it be if nobody cared about anything but partying and getting high?
If thats what drugs do to people maybe they should be illegal....

And Back to the Original toipic of this thread:
I am not Israeli or German, but i do feel that being involved with such an international scene has expanded my mind a lot, and made me more sympathetic to the situations with other countries. I used to be poltically on the right wing, with lots of fucked up nationalistic/miliatristic ideas, but being on the dancefloor with so many beautiful people from so many places made it impossible for me to continue holding those views. Because of trance, i have an increased commitment to social justice, espcially justice for less wealthy nations that have been harmed by my nation and its quest for wealth and power.

Well a) that tibetan book is "religious", surely not psychedelic. And b) I do know quite much even thou I don't own a tibetan shirt and nepalese skirt. And finally c) I don't like people who think less of the ones who aren't that much into the whole hippy thing.

In my point of view psychedelic culture used to be (from what I've gathered) deeply rooted on philosophy and all that but then drugs took over. Man I love deep discussions on life, the universe and everything in between and above. But in the ego-centric-hippie-sort-of-view (not all of them ofcourse) I don't qualify ("lack of education" in your words) for those discussions cos I know less because I still haven't bought myself that Tibetan shirt from Tibet where I travelled with my parent's money and infact can't really remember anything of it cos I was so stoned. But maaan it was psychedelic

Trying to find any possible excuse to not open my molecular biology book and study I'll go on for a little more..

Man I've had some really bad experiences with the enlightened children of love (hippies). Seeing them being one (doing loads of drugs in colorful clothes) for a week in a row @ Samothraki just to leave honestly a ton (well a lot anyways) garbage to the ground. Seeing a british fairy totally loosing it to some poor guy who worked at the train station at Transit. "What DO YOU SPEAK ENGLISH!!" JESUS FUCKING CHRIST THIS GUY DOESN'T KNOW ANY ENGLISHHHH!" The guy wasn't selling her a ticket. So I step in with my crappy basic spanish and gather something like "The rails are flooded, no trains going today." I tell this to the lovely fairy and fuck. "WHAT THE FUCK YOU FUCKING FUCKING PIECE OF....." "I hate this FUCKING COOUNTRY.." Wow so enlightened! Also like 10 guys sneaking me at the bar at some party in Finland. I go like "umm?" And the reply is something like "What the hell, this is our party etc etc.." Also seeing children of love making fun of the way people dance... and well those are just a few examples. Now ofcourse there are true (not season hippies) out there who're ofcourse also into drugs but know how to behave.. With them I have absolutely no problems with..

So now it require a "deeper" understanding to be one with the PLUR(NOT) community? Listen I have seen people in this scene all over the world rant on and on about the deeper understanding and all above heaven and earth stuff. All of them sat all day inside doing one thing... A bong and a bong and a bong... hardly the people I would consider to know much about anything but the bong This Hippy-seudo thing is so cliche mates and dudettes. I respect your opinion but you got to stop force it down people's heads... You remind me of the vegans... A bit too fanatic maybe?

Believe me I know all about the cliches.
When I see so-called enlightened children behaving like Traveller describes, that breaks my heart as much as anything except for when I catch myself acting so unenlightened.
There are a lot of people who just run their mouths about this stuff while they hit the bong... and that is not who I want to be. I run my mouth because I want to raise the standards for behavior, and encourage people to encourage me to be a better person.
I think there is a lot to all that heaven and earth talk... It's not everybodys thing sure, but when I talk it its coming from the heart, and my heart is in the end the only thing I have to give.
If Im just another maggot infested trance hippy ranting about peace and love and spirituality, then so be it. That is who I am.
Love,

Well,
this is an incident which happened to me recently.

In London at NYE, i was upstairs in the chill room, just sittin and trying to do some white light meditation, when i heard loud voices.
Being the chill room, lots of ppl were with their chillums and what not, so i didnt think it was out of the ordinary. Till i heard a franctically familiar accent.
Then i see this indian hippie dude, ranting at some poor czech girl. Like serious ranting!!
The gist is that she didnt know what or where GOA was!!!.
Apparently he mentioned Goa in some part of their conversation and she drew a blank.
Now this dude was talkin about Goa like it was bloody the 'Greatest place on Earth. Burstin with color and Euphoria".
Whatever, his point was that she didnt fit in, because of her ignorance.!!!

As Psycosmo said..

There are a lot of people who just run their mouths about this stuff while they hit the bong...
Prime Example right here!!

Well, my original post wasnt really about the spiritual side of it all, im somewhat ambivalent about that, i for sure dont run around in shiva attire and no ones more intolerant then dreadlocked "real" goa freaks in my opinion.

But i was trying to make the point that our scene brings different people together, beyond all the "shiva" and mysticism" crap, people from all parts of life and different countries dancing and just enjoying music together.           Check out my album: http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/gay-satanic-hippie-tiefenrausch

i have to say somthing about this ..

well guys u r right, music not only trance, i mean like all cineds of music combine ppl from all over the world.
for exemple trance. we r one big fucking cult.

and yes it is a terrible thing about the holocaust, but whats done is done, there is no way back.
and i'm sure that alot german ppl regret doing that.
and the one's who didnt..got there punish.
but yet its still in the past and we have to move on with life. "SE LA VI".
there is nothing that we can do about it.

my point is...SMILE TO THE WORLD AND THE WORLD WILL SMILE BACK!!! coz after all we r one tribe..

and about the girls issue..we have the most beautiful girls on earth!!!
and still i prefer blonds blue eyes girls with big tits and speek's german. hehehhehe

This thread has just lost two pages of it because some people decided to turn a mature, lucid, clear, intelegant discussion into an offtopic, abusive fight.

This discussion should stay focused and on topic. Beware of abusive and offensive post as this is a highly sensitive subject, so please!!!
