listen guys, I really, really love ambient. But lately people have been trying to force feed me a lot of Shpongle ripoffs and other things like that. I've been listening to Dub, Trip-Hop, DnB... whatever.

I want something NEW. A refreshing sound that I haven't heard before, and I want it to be twisted in a very, very wrong way. Something that when I'll listen to it, I'll think "ohh fuck!" again and again, and come back for more.

Any recommendations?           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

I only have stuff from Brothomstates from that list (the Clairo LP), if the rest of that list are on that quality, nothing left to say except "thank you".           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

this may surprise some people here - I don't use soulseek, never have in the past and probably won't start anytime soon.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

u better start, coze boca_raton is david kebab aka dj airy and his partner rani. cool guys with cool minds. and their stuff released only on white label, not aviable in israel.
and he offer its of his own, so its not a crime ))
from my own expirience i can add the urlich shanus as a very very recomended thing. im also in love with solvent city and jacques gelee.
anyway, this thread is a david's thread for sure.
p.s. - love is not a crime )

Asafinka, the question is -- what are you looking for?
something different than what? going on which style?

What about some Edgar Froese, Residents, Namlook, Rich, Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream?
And what about some dream-alternative-rock stuff? like Luna and Mercury Rev?

Hmpff...

*Boards of Canada- Music has the right to children (Ambient Techno IDM)
*Jurassic 5- Quality Control (Underground Rap, Alternative Rap)
*Sigur Rós- Ágćtis Byrjun (Ambient Pop, Chamber Pop, Space Rock, Post-Rock/Experimental)
*Dj Shadow- the private press (Ambient Breakbeat, Trip-Hop)
*Godspeed You black Emporor-Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven (Experimental Rock, Space Rock, Post-Rock/Experimental)
*Massive Attack- 100th Window
*Mogwai- Young Team (Experimental Rock, Space Rock, Indie Rock)

you could either take my word for it and spend 100$ on all these albums, or you can listen and decide for yourself. it's your choice.

Apocalypse: those are all NOT what I'd consider "something else" (and I know all of them, btw). David here got the line I was thinking in very well.

Lyri - the rock/acoustic side I've got covered very well, but thanks anyways.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

well "something else" is a genre that I'm not too familiar with yet.

Rephrasing it - nonconventional ideas and music. Something that's a 180 degree turn from the "normal" ambient music.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

What About Zakir Hussain?
and Eskimo or Mark of the mole by The Residents?
Or maybe Outpost by Robert Rich and Ian Boddy?
Or Silence by Pete Namlook and Dr. Atmo?
