This topic is based on my own experiences with our first demo send out...

Zlajm (Me & Mini-Mal) sent out 5 demos about 1 1/2 - 2 months ago and only three friendly label managers and A&R ´s have actually given us feedback... i know the eternal silence means NO but thats not what im looking for, all im asking for is a honest feedback about the music since its not all about releasing but having other peoples thoughts and tips on your mind while doing what u love to do. im just sad this is how the scene works cus many artists loose their energy when the get "screwed" please dont burn me label people i just wanna say what i have on my mind regarding the labels...

Well, unfortunately some labels have that cocky attitude towards young aspiring musicians, and this is something that belongs on the commercial side of music... It's really sad that we see this happening in our scene as well... There are two small words called "respect" and "honesty", but alas these words are not a part of everyone's vocabulary...

I've sent out a handful of demos myself over the last couple of years, and I was always given some kind of feedback like "we have too many releases in queue at the moment..." ( the polite way to tell you that they thought it sucked...) so I guess I was lucky then...
Anyways, I wish you guys good luck... keep it up and sooner or later someone will appreciate your work...

plur,

Rosengren why are you 'protecting' these labels since they have not been honest and fair?
Let the people know whats going on on the scene.
And after all its not nice to speak without mentioning names and facts, you better not speak at all anyway.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

dear detox, i am protecting these label since i do not want to interfere in their way of working unless i have to. If i told u it would leave a negative echo everytime u see a release from that label and i dont want that.

All i want is people to listen up and take those 20-30 minute demos and take a listen and write an mail which is honest not just ignore the author of the demo...

But my friend Rosengren since you dont name them then there is no point in your post. Its like saying that a party was bad and dont explain the reasons, saying that an artist makes bad music but dont explain what are his mistakes. Its like saying trance is in a bad period of time without explaing the reasons.Lets say things with their name because thats how we can make this world better.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

im with u andres.
no need to posting names.
and i somewhat understand the lables...
they are interested in finding music.
and dont have time to tell you whats wrong with yours...
just yes or no.
i understand that.
imagine if the label guys will spend all day explaining to the artists they reject whats wrong with the music...

SMILE ! and the whole world will smile right back at you !

Hi Wako...and the rest. I have to agree with you to some extend. We've received music that we won't release but that doesn't mean that the music was bad and it doesn't mean that you can't give possitive feedback(you can do that even if it sucks). I know from making my own music that critisism is sometimes better than people telling you your music is the best. I need someone to tell me where I can approve my music and in the end it's better for me. Think I got a bit off track here but hope you know whare Im getting at. And just for the record....Anders makes alot of slamming tracks and I'm confident that he'll have his first release soon.

Peace out, Brian(Crotus Recs)

Just think you have to choose wisely the label where to send your demos and create like a partnership with them cos this is the main thing cos if you establish a nice relation between label -> Artist things will become much more easy and you'll get a trully feedback, cos as shroomy said sometimes it's not enought to get a feedback telling "your music is good but for now....." i think that what "we" new artists need it's a critic to whats wrong and to what could be better in order to improve our work.
Anyway keep on !!!!
