The new 2 DVD + CD box set from Behemoth is looking like it will shape up to be mindblowing!

I'll be grabbing it for sure, although it still saddens me that vocalist/guitarist Nergal is still struggling badly with leukemia

I hate you, you hate me, we are all so hap hap happy!

Everybody loves Meshuggah

Here's my personal favourite Math Metal band, though:

by the way : here a vidéo of PEace Love & Pittbul, ... this is not metal, but still with guitar, and massive energy on stage... saw them twice in the early 90th (i think 92) and it was a fucking blast )

The Ocean collective (Berlin, switzerland, ... )
is quite interresting also ... i love how they alternate during their live set: the quiet and the brutal songs

Thanks for the tips on some good music!

Dillinger Escape Plan is awesome, heard them about the same time as I was getting into psytrance 10 years ago.

I've heard them labeled 'progressive metal', and I know there's a genre of punk called math rock (bands like Steve Albini's band Shellac).

Some goodie coming out on my radar for 2011:

Abysmal Dawn - "Leveling The Planes of Existence" (Relapse) http://shop.relapse.com/search_results.aspx?st=2&ss=leveling%20the%20plane%20of%20existence

Obscura - "Omnivium" (Relapse) http://shop.relapse.com/search_results.aspx?st=2&ss=omnivium

Death - "The Sound of Perseverance" (2 x CD/3 x CD Reissue - Relapse) http://shop.relapse.com/search_results.aspx?st=2&ss=the%20sound%20of%20perseverance

Belphegor - "Blood Magick Necromance" (Nuclear Blast)

and rumor has it that there'll be new Napalm Death, Slayer, Metallica & Behemoth (Nergal has been released from hospital following 4 weeks of bone marrow transplanting).

Gonna be a good year for metal heads!

I'm off to Soundwave next month in Australia which despite having plenty of punk/emo/nu metal also has Dimmu Borgir, Slayer, Rob Zombie, Saxon & Iron Maiden on the bill!

Shellac are amazing! Used to cover their songs with my old band. Them, Girls Against Boys and...Helmet
