atomic gigantic molecular happenings...revolving and flying all around the hall......massive....multi coloured pheneomena....absolutely staggering...and with Brahmas backdrops...about 20 or so....made the perfect setting....along with new Shpongle paintings......bye Sat ram...the guy who invented and made the original shpongle mask.......wow did it look good...even before we pl;ayed a note.......we started at ten....after an opening set bye Ott...of Twisted fame......and he played a moving and sypathetic set...full of richness and verve.......then we came on...everyone in a new shpoponjgle shaman robe created bye Brahma......full fluoro.....looked just perfect and glowing......Nogera.////the best drummer in Japan was wailing on a full kit...plus congas and percussion...and he is dynamite....full power rocker......we played until the countdown to the new year.....three new ten minute numbers.....and a few manipulated older ones...all live.......with the flute finally being audible and clear{I just bought three new Yamaha flutes this year in Japan..;.}and the sound was incredible...loud but not too loud...and clear as a shpongle bell in paradise......the benchmark of audio excellence........and no feedback or distortion...something I have been waiting for all my life...well 35 years of playing on stage...it was near perfect.......Simon and I were wearing full make up and masks......changing all the time....and I had several new shpongle horns made....full fleuro electric...with lights flashing up and down the sides........and so with Hari Om in full flight singing over the top.....and Simons girl friend Fabiola dancing...it was quite a magnificent show.......I dont know if it could or wiill ever get better than this........it was a spectacle...a real show......and no mistakes...all the cues right on....improvising all the time on top...the flute flying......vocoders growling....and having loads of fun dancing with the audience and the girls......it was like a football match when David beckham scores three goals.....absolute bedlam and people going into euphoric rapture.....as we were...wow was it fun.......andeven tho the show was long....and I knew I had to play a 1200 Mic"s set live at 5 in the morning...the energy was high.....and the fun meter stuck on red.......what a way to end and start the new year....super power...super music coming to life.......everyone was great..Pete the guitarist...proved he is amongst the truly great players of our age...blistering solo"s...sparks coming out......soaring...wailing...rocking...he is a master....and Ott helping out on the desk while Si was playing electric guitar...{he bought another two in Japan....}and it was very good to see him comeout bfrom behind the desk.......adding another live level.........it was over so quick./...like all good things.....and we were high naturaly for days after.....and tho back still recovering from the thrill and exhaltation......Now we prepare for Israel...a concert of Shpongle in Tel Aviv.....the first timeoutside of Japan.....and we are all going...Michelle also joining us this time on vocals....it should be fun.....then the next day to Brazil...and so it goes....
Things are starting to happen in shpongleworld...now that Sasha has got behind us and voted us his favourite record of 2003.....and we are being played on the commercial radio every week and are inj the charts......but all this is just icing on the cake....we are half way thru the 3rd Shpongle album...and promise you some surprises......don"t expect a repeat of the past..the future is sitting on our faces.......anyway...forgive the spelling and the haste of this e mail.....as I am completely kerstankanflapped...as they say.....but send best love to all our supporters and fans around the globe...and I really hope this year to catch up withy you sometime......meanwhile big love and stay in touch...Solstice the organizers again proved they are the top-outfit in the world.....and we bow to them and thank all our Japanese friends.....and new buddies and sisters....Rock On...love as ever RajaRam..."
