Another Planet is happening 19,20 but lineup is mediocre.

Org'z do we have an update yet?There are loads of people who have planned it from all over the World.For a Party of this magnitude ,its only true to believe that there are other plans in place incase of a DISASTER.So plzzz break the ice and enlighten us on the future plans.Its good to know what's happening instead of concluding to Rumors.

Its already out. Its cancelled got a sms yesterday saying SJ is cancelled and presale would be refunded once they get hold of rodney a/c which has the funds.
Does it need to be more official than that ?
All those with scheduled leaves what alternative plans ?

Time never stays the same, happiness and sorrow are part of our lives but when we lose someone all these philosophies change and leave us in an infinite sorrow. We have lost our beloved friend Rodney who was an integral part of the Shanti Jatra organization. His motivation, far sightedness & dedication was a major driving force behind Shanti Jatra. We have truly lost the drive and to top it all, we have lost our dear friend. This is the most difficult and trying time for us.
After an event in april the media and the authorities in Nepal were completely against such events and there was a tv series on one of the news channel about the trance culture, the two episode event named "MISSION TRANCE" was filmed soley at the festival undercover, which show cased how the trance culture in Nepal was the gateway to illegal activites.This lead to many of us organisers being questioned by the authorities.This in addition to a recent meeting with the narcotics department of police in Nepal made us think about the safety of the festival which is of utmost importance to us.
The authourities of Nepal leveraged the previous editions of the festival inorder to grow tourism and to improve socio economic conditions of the country.After april lead to the authorites being privy to the happenings of the trance culture.With the pressures mounting from legal bodies we are forced to succumb to their wants & help to Stop these trance festivals from continuing.
We did with all our power to try beat the force and carry on with our festival. But with the loss of our friend we have no power to fight back with the authorities and the media and most importantly we don’t want to risk the lives of the people who are visiting us at this festival.
We sold an approximate of 224 tickets in presales for this year's festival. The venue is being built from scratch, sorround sound being set up, labour hired for help, cottages being built and so on.Since Rodney held the primary bank account of Shati Jatra his passing away has made it difficult for us to claim the money without any legal will written.Since this has left us with minimal or no options, the family including his brother Anthony Mathias will be taking responsibilty of proceeds of the account. For all those who have purchased the tickets prior to the festival the amount will be refunded as soon as the family is able to release the amount from his account. They are working towards resolving this at this moment. This would take approximately a month's time.
if u have bought the flight tickets.. dont cancell it.. come to nepal any ways and enjoy the nature.. i would personally suggest to go to vipassna mediation starting on 1st october in pokhara and spread shanti in proper way.
With a heavy heart the SHANTI JATRA team in its best interest of the people and their safety has decided to CANCEL this year's edition dated 3, 4, 5 & 6th of October 2009.
Again, we request all those who have purchased our festival tickets to be patient for further details and proceedings of refund.
Thank you so very much for the support and kindness you have shown towards keeping the festival alive for 2 editions.We deeply regret the inconveince and grief that has been caused due to the short comings in our lives.

i dont know y but sumhow i am in no mind to get my money back.its all good,really.i've tried to put myself in da shoes of the orgs...everything looks very difficult from their eyes.they must have tried so hard to make this event happen but things dint work out.really babas all boom to u.its all good.u made 2 jatras happen without ne hassels n god knows how many lives this fest mite have changed.
shantijatra 2010....yes we must have.not coz it din work out this tym but in memory of rodney yaara, we must !
again...big boom to da orgs n rodney in special.u guys really made us travel to a distant land full of fairy tales.those memories will always b cherished n kept alive in our hearts.
