Suppose there was a server loading up all released Tracks
Suppose you could individually pay for track that you want instead of buying the cd
would this make it easier for you guys to have original quality Phat music
would this inhilate the use of mp3
would you be willing to pay US$ 1. for a track. Knowing that your payment would in part help the artist. and the record label.
Imagine your files and collections then
imagine the clarity

Not really. There's just the retailer and the artist. No distributor, no shipping, no manufacturing. Of course there is bandwidth but the cost is minimal if compared to physical shipping.

I don't think its that cheap actually....
Thats like 9-11 $ for an MP3 album, I prefer to pay 15-18 $ and have the original stuff
I would be willing to pay about 5$ per album in mp3, no more than that. (I would be willing to pay more if it was compressed in a loss-less way, with possibility to revert to full quality) |

the best (and maybe the only) thing that will probably drag some people to pay for mp3 albums/compils online would be for some old releases that cannot be found anywhere

You can find nearly anything on P2P if you look hard enough. What will convince people to buy MP3 is
1. That MP3 are available for sale.
2. That buying MP3 is easier than downloading it from shitty P2P networks
3. That it's good for the scene and it helps artists more than anything else they can do. And that artists need this support.
4. Stop smearing MP3 saying it's a format that sucks and worth nothing.
Now since none of these conditions are met in the psytrance scene, of course, there is not a chance that anybody is going to buy music files.
In the meantime, Napster, Apple and others have sold 10's of millions of files
And psytrance people flock to P2P because they don't want to pay 18$ for 2 tunes they like, giving a meager 1.5$ to their favorite artist in the process.

dudes when are we going to stop kidding ourselves that we can find a solution for this topic? the only one that can actually sort this out is mr bill gates.

Actualy, this would a good step for the music, people would buy tracks because they know that 1$ is not much to pay the joy of music, whta happens now is that people don't pay 15$ for an album with few songs they really like. Also music quality would get higher because if it's not good people won't get it so it's not worth it to release it. Got it? |

mp3 are for those who dont care about what these trancidental sound waves are doing to their heads
We are talking about downloading the track Phat on original quality this download could then be transfered for a dat even
for this one would have to have the patients, and the thirst for quality. |

i would definately pay to download mp3's that are worth having in my collection.
as long as the quality is immaculate...and of course, there is a vast library of tracks. |
