Serious concerns on our Survival

I say our survival because we are an integral part of this music scene...
how does one ensure more shelflife for a cd?
how does one keep updated with all the new music thts being released everyday
how does one keep track of all the new artists
How does one support the scene, when its so damn volatile
How many of us buy cds? n how often?
these are the issues which are bothering me, psytrance has become wht it shudnt have. Too many new djs, new artists, new music everyday.... reducing the shelf life of cds, increasing downloads, creating higher redundancy.......
unlike rock, or heavy metal, i dont see tracks which are played over n over... its all about new music...
Point is with such rapid expansion, n growth in the music, we do not have loyal music followers, and its difficult for a scene to sustain without strong loyalty from the fans.... thinks its time to slow down...
Dont you think so??

its time we get our priorties sorted... dont jus be in the scene for parties.... its a bad time for parties... n its a tough road upwards... it will take time for party scene to come back...
all i want is tht psytrance should be based on strong music lovers , and not jus a bunch of party hoppers... support artists, support the scene... buy cds, and contribute in ure own way to spread the sounds of psy to one n all..
we have this spacee, a breather , a time to think... before party scene in india comebacks with a bang...
Do not spread negative vibes, do not mention drugs.. the music needs it, we need it...

more importantly quality of music , creativity is coming down, out of all the music u ve heard this year... there isnt much tht u cud say is of great quality or creative...
reason being artists want to release albums, singles quickly to be there on top of mind, with so much new music artists do not have time to think creatively...
which shudnt be the case....

I'm sorry, but I don't totally agree. Parties have to be there, and it's always nice to hear a classic song, and that happens!
And according to me: the more DJ's and producers there are, the more the quality will go up. More people will hear psytrance, new people will get into it, maybe they are the new Astral Projection...
I just want to say: we need parties and we need new music to take everything to the next level! |

also agree with djparanormal re supporting the scene & buying CDs regularly, is surely is the need of the hour. Round the globe we are a whole lot but why CD sales aren't working. Yes, there's not good music also being released, but we have choices.
No JUST Party Hoppers, is what we need.

Did not say parties shud not be there... how did u get that? i said parties are not happening now... n the way it used to, it might never be for a long time... its a time to think, grow , spread the music to one n all... so tht we are one strong force... right now i feel not all but quite alot are here jus for the Ds and parties.. which shudnt be the case... parties will happen when they have to, spread the vibe meanwhile...
Abt quality increasing, sure it shud with time.... but honestly... it hasnt, wht ever u might say... focus has shufted to producing music fast... making "killers" et all.. wheres the connect??
something is missing... even i dont know, sure make music, but make it because u believe in it, because its an extention of u, n not because a particular styles selling..
We need new talent , new blood, but not at the cost of diluting this scene..

change... yea change is goood... i get a feelin tht we need a radical change... a change in our mindset towards our music... associatio of psytrance with drugs has been a big hurdle in its growth,
it is my humble request do not associate psytrance with D's.
Promote the music , spread the msg, psytrance is clean, psytrance is u...
doin D's is a personal choice, n people will do it with or without the music.. lets not give the scene a bad name by associating it with substance abuse... for those who enjoy the Ds keep it low, keep it real,...
Its time we all get together n begin a new movement... change is necessary, mindsets need to change aswell

the idea which shud have been ages ago is suddenly striking people now?
stick to music only. u know ur artists, those who are running for money - ull know from their music ...
dont ask to slow down, there are people who know wat their doing with their music, and it is indeed gr8.
if ur talkin abt new artists ... hear their music , and see the potential. i guess we have that sense who is gonna go far .... and who released one trac for the sake of it .
as for promotin music, there is enuf already .. for trax which arent played over and over again - its the mindset to play "unrlsd"/or their new cd promos.
those who listen to music, at home, listen to work of all old artists till date.
askin to spread music to the masses. sure,
Beer fest happened in mumbai , i guess it was to promote electronic music in general for the same cause.
i saw psycraft add for "psychos " , so, music is being spread to the mass.
but its the people who cant live without d's .. and they have to do it when they are Inside the party. new people get drawn it to being cool or for the matter of experimentation, so it spreads again .
there is gr8 music out there. and im happy

well there are plenty of ways to make money, making music is not one of them. good music comes not from the lure of cash but from the lure of hitting that right note that takes ur on trip down to oblivion...musicians make music...the a&r guys make money, the labels make money...take trip down memory lane and the reason good bands break up is not because they didnt make good music but because they didnt make good money...guess what the point is back in the day chopin, tchaikovsky etc they got support and made music for joy and passion, now musicians make it for money and recognition...back then they didnt care about what the masses thought of them, as long they had their sugar daddies and mammas's taking care of them. unfortunately musicians today think of this as missing out on opportunity to make more money from the masses...well unless musicians go back to the older ways they will always be commercial commodities in the market place...the fame-dom has killed music..bling is out

well make money.. no ones stopping anyone from making money... we all need money to survive... so askin the artists not to make money isnt fair...
All i am sayin is be true to ureself, make music tht u believe in, n i am sure tht way people will love the sounds even more... do not let a trend get to u, make something thts honest, let the deep craziness inside you come out thru ure music, express wht u think , feel, thru the music... do not follow a trend, do not sell out... N in doin so money is surely gonna follow... but never let the money be in control of wht u produce or make.. money is a necessary evil.. let the music talk.. money will definately follow

We will survive.....
Had a nice gig last nite with White Wizard & Gravitactional in Dilli..... super stomping after a long time in Dilli....
Hope it stays alive & kicking
