Hello boys and girls who swim in tech waters
Long time no read review by me. Lot of job to do etc etc.. After much releases starting in 2008 this one splash me at all. I got release from my very good friend to listen, cause he know that i like tech trance and night progress and after i was read that is Sensient CD i become more impatiant to hear.

1. Zone effect
SOOOOOOOOO DRY and have great groove. its start like little bit faster tech house wish vocal sample. One of those that your mind create on your will You know for shore when you are on party and music flow and you hear one of those cut vocals who play in loop and create some word which is actually exist just in your head Moment of psychedelic part break illusion of house part no matter of beat and like he announcement harder style which is more closer to tech trance then tech house but with progressive groove line. And GO! like reverse kick, bass line do PUMPING!!!
Ist still dry but have a great psychedelic connection with upcoming FXs which constantly go round and round and make this drive more perfect. Like factory atmosphere. Put it put it put it.... Breaks in tracks are simple and thats should be. Point of this kind of style is story & simplicity. I dont like upcoming vocal after 7th minute but this is only thing that i animadvert, so, not that big deal. Pretty Super track!

2. SideStep
Dirty Splash Distorsion with dark atmosphere. Ummmmmmmmm i like it already. After first track, second must bu THAT in case of EP! And more pumpin' bass (sees like other kick) then from first track tell me that im not wrong. Again play with FXs who actually talk you a story. Thats what i like it in that kind of style. No need melodies (which dosent mean that i dont like melodies) to explane what artists have to say. Very rhythmic and dance. Like in tunnel Jungle Definatly this is minimal music and review should be minimal cause some music you must hear to get the point instead of some music which can describe with letters
From 5th minute great break and confusing moment till 5:39 where upcoming women vocal totally lift up atmosphere and make extazy in track how can the same beat from start, make better drive. Knowingly for shore
Like he have 26 years of experience, not life
End of track is one of that i like to call "Let the DJ easier way to mix up track with other" and that kind of ending i respect and i like.

Because vocal at 7 minute from first track 9/10           ------------------

Where can I get it?
I mean, not the digital, but the real version.

Only the digital version is out. To tell the truth I feel kinda disappointed by this one. Didn't fully meet my expectations.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

01 :: Zone Effect (9:40)
02 :: Sidestep (9:29)

The Zone Effect EP is the first digital single from Sensient (Tim Larner), an Australian producer largely responsible for bringing minimal psytrance back from the brink of oblivion. Predictably enough, both songs are composed in his signature style: dark, heavy, brooding, and extraordinarily powerful. In terms of sound, this EP is close to that of AntiFluoro, Sensient’s third album, released in 2006. As always, the level of production is very high, offering clarity, fatness, and an immense sense of space.

Zone Effect dishes out a hollow mechanical groove glazed with stylized atmospheric flourishes. Tribal textures dominate in the early moments: thematic drum patterns and ethnic vocalizations can be heard. The break introduces an intriguing sample about being “in the zone” before launching the listener into the final stages. Fresh contusions result from increasingly complex rhythmic mutations. The feeling of these later sequences is almost optimistic in some strange way; Tim is once again working with contrasting elements to invoke a nuanced response.

Sidestep drops down into deeper grooves, running at about 132 BPM. The monotonous kick drum gains support from a blackened bass line and an ever-shifting set of eerie vocal manipulations. The rhythmic detailing in this piece is particularly ornate; tribal toms strike with immense force, shuffled hi-hat surrogates shake it up, and hints of funk guitar inject an exotic flavour. Surprisingly uplifting female vocals emerge later on, contrasting strongly with the brutal beats. This juxtaposition emphasizes the sense of dread and foreboding that had been growing throughout the course of this excellent track.

Sensient meets expectations with this digital single; existing fans will be very satisfied. Sidestep and Zone Effect are both fine examples of Larner’s distinctive style. Anyone with a taste for techtrance would be well-advised to check out this EP. It is available for purchase from Beatport and several other digital download outlets.
