problem, some of my most cheriched cd's:

Dementedainment V/A (Twisted 2000)
A Voyage into Trance mixed by Danny Rampling (DragonFly 1997)
Hallucinogen - Twisted (Twisted 1996)

are scratched... some beyond repair of the magical saliva treatment and those liquid things that patch up... actually i never used those kits... i depend on saliva... you must understand that i come from a generation that thinks everything could be solved by either blowing really hard on electronic equipment (nintendo cartridges) or adding saliva to them

anyway, i suggest that perhaps labels could use the better non-scratchable cd's, the ones with the black bottom so we the buyers could be rewarded with a longer lasting product...
music is timeless...... unless it skips

Gadi my friend thats why when you get a new original cd the first thing that you have to do is to make a copy of it,use the copy and leave the original in a special area where you will keep all the originals.Trust me its really helpfull plus you wont face problems with your music never again.Originals must be used only on special occasions hehe.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

only touch cd's with silk gloves and only use them in sterile rooms
i always listen to the originals, but i'm very careful with them
seriously, i think these cd's with the black bottom are more expensive for sure, arent they (more expensive to produce) ? this would mean higher cost for the label.

From my experience i can say that UK/US/Germany Mainstream Labels CDs last much longer and don't scratch as easily as Psy labels CDs. I have Oasis' - What's the story album since it first week of release and it passed countless hands and still it's virtually scratchless. Same goes to Prodigy's Jilted Generation and Rage Against The Machine first album. While my Psy collection is really badly scratched. Master pieces like Hallucinogen's Twisted are scratched like hell although it wasn't nearly hardly treated as my Oasis album for instance.
As for Israeli printed CD's where until recently they were disaster.
Everytime i bought foreign album i insisted on checking if it's reprinted in Israel.
And in addition to that from what i understood from a veteran sound technician, until recently a lot of foreign albums were remastered in Israel. Why? I don't know, maybe our ears are different than European ones?           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

Try burning the scratched CD. Sometimes your CD-R can read them even though your stereo can't. It worked for me for a couple of badly scratched CD's. Maybe go to a music store also and buy some of those CD cleaners before hand...

Good luck.           Both teams played hard
