When a lot of people say "cheezy", I wonder if they really mean "cliche". Most melodies and samples that I find cheesy I find so because they sound so much alike that they almost parody their own style. Some synth riffs sound like a joke because they sound like what Satuday Night Live would make if they wanted to spoof psytrance.

For me the king of cheesy is the 1200 mics Ayahuasca track where in the beginning they're like "Deep in the Amazon Jungle the Ancient Inca....."
Are you serious?
The Inca lived in the Andes, not the Amazon, there is a big difference and the sample just makes it sound like trance people are abunch of hippie ignoramuses who are like
"cool dude those indians, they like, did mad drugs man, those indians where cool, they were, like, all hallucinating on Peyote and talking to the spirits, Man!"
Anyway thats my rant. Things that lower the intellecual tone of trance music are cheesy.

cliche doesn't have to be cheesy or melodic. A lot of dark glitchy music is cliche as well.

not all morning music is cheesy.

not all melodic music is cheesy.

not all cheesy music is melodic, though a lot of it is. .

Any track does not have a remotely psychedelic element to it is 'Cheesy'.
Just havin Swooshes + swishes + break down+ build up Does NOT equal a psychedelic track.

The least cheesy producers are those that make 'Ambient/chilled out psychedelic music.

Hmmmm,
still there are ambiet albums which i consider cheesy.
And even though some ambient albums are good there would still some tracks which i define as cheesy!

The defintion of cheesy in my opinion is when producers make sounds and melodies to the pleasure of the simple minds!
and to attract a large amount of crowd and fans.

Meaning that most of the population in the world have simple minds and that would be being commercial at that stage!

Take example from Infected mushroom,
before they used to produce what they liked and not what the majority of the crowd liked.

Nowadays they are making commercial music to attract most of the simple minds......

I'm the supervisor, cities of the future bla bla bla....

That's pure gorgonzola mate!

Sill tak any full on album today and compare that to a HUVA Network or Aes Dana cd and u can immediately see the difference. On the contrary the chilled producers are the acknowledged crowd pleasers.
The Proggy stuff is gettin better and better nowadays too.           ~*** You can tell By the way i use my walk, Im a woman's man, No time to Talk***~

Cheesy is so many different things to different people.

Sometimes I find when the bass line shifts up or down a key a bit 'cheesy'. This happens in the best of tracks but the most reknown artists who I would never dare to call cheesy. It's just a personal thing, perhaps they could have made it a semi-tone and I would be less irritated.

ie Astrix Sex Style 5:15

Generally for me though 'cheese' refers to music that is really made to be popular: pop music. Mainstream dance music is full of cheesy compilations, here today, gone tomorrow.

That's right,
sometimes the problem would be just in one note but still the question is:
"Didn't the artist realize that that particular note is making his track sound gorgonzola or he did notice it but does not give a damn or did he do it on purpose?"

Mind you all,
have a look on psyshop and you'll see that 99% of thema are doing it on purpose so to attract glow stick kids!
That's what pisses me off!

Well, how can you tell if Infected is doing that kind of music to atract more fans or because they like it like that.....
Even not liking what they are doing wright now i respect them and i m shure they are not that desperate for money to do something they dont like.....

just because you dont like it, and you come here saying trance is gettin cheesy, and gms and infected just do theyr sound because of the money doesnt make you or anyone the master of the truth

find out what you like and leave the rest alone...
