Dj Coke-E's set sounded good for the time I went into the Hip Hop room. I missed most of his set cause I was Djing in the psytrance room. I actually think I saw Devic telling Coke-E how much he liked his set. He had all the girls dancing dirty the whole time!           Julie ~*JacobuSubocaJ*~

I'm not sure the difference between hip-hop and hipster. I think a hipster may be a person who listens to hip-hop music...or maybe hip-psy music?

LOL!

A hipster classifies as...well.....someone in their 20s who actively goes out to bars and parties that USUALLY have no defined music genre or "scene" attached to it...its just sort of like the middle ground scene. they like popular music heard on the radio (not "pop" music, but music more familiar to people in their 20s, like from jimmy hendrix and the doors to sublime, cypress hill, 2 short, nirvana, etc). They usually arent broke; they have money to spend on drinks pretty freely. Alot of them are in college. they have no particular dress or look, they most of the time just sort of blend in, kind of. I dunno....its a stupid thing you just sort of recognize when you go out alot like I do, hard to describe.....(dammit, come to think of it, maybe Im a hipster?? damn)

there were definitely hipsters at this event(hipsters with more of a conservative edge), as opposed to the stereotypical thugs associated with hip-hop that I was hoping to see...but hey, we got people dancing and hopefully infected with the psy-bug, so it was nice

looking forward to psyching-out the hipsters at the pimp n'ho....good to see some of you will come out and support! hehe

um, I live in Brooklyn, and the "hipsters" here are all those douchey kids with skinny pants and v-neck t-shirts. I think they like punk rock? Or maybe hip hop? They definitely like cocaine. And douche-baggery. And irony.

How did the cali hip hop kids like the GREENMAN!!!!!!!

hahaha i think we have a different definition of "hipsters" out east...they are most closely associated with indie rock, punk, 80s/new wave, and most recently electro. there is most definitely a scene and a community. they range from loaded to completely broke. there are quite a few here in NY ;-)

yes yes here one the east coast, hipsters are mostly "tragically cool" or "geek-chic," ::retro-futuruistic, skinny pant wearing punk rockin hip hoppers ?!?!) -

or so purposefully lame that they somehow in their minds complete the full circle, like the ourboros, to come out the other side at the top of the social heap. Like the geeks of the 80s back for revenge with..a...vengeance, still lamer yet somehow cooler than all the kids who picked on them back then even though they were for the most part barely toddlers at that point...kind of a throwback to an era that they sorely missed out on i guess?

so. it basically makes no sense, aside from ironical nonsensical no-sense as you can see, to be an east coast hipster, paradox embodied and transmogrified into a very specific form of impression. Trying so hard they gave up?

pretty sure it is a mostly east coast urban phenomeneon. dear god I hope so....

some authentic and mostly accurate footage from billyburg USA for you viweing peelayzure

you know....after reading these posts and seeing the videos, I think you guys know more of what your talking about......I think I was a bit off and not as clear in my attempt at defining a hipster...though I definitely saw some of them at the event. I would say for sure that its not just an east coast phenomenon.           info/tourdates/psy

in LA they(the hipsters)leave in Silver Lake and the choice of the night is always Spaceland,a mix of cabaret, concert hall, bar and cocaine restroons...nice place.
they are just very peaceful people.
