about Freq:
Freq(Melbourne,Australia) In the playground between the new sound of progressive and trance FREq will envelope you in rich, warm, massive grooves of the highest levels of production! FREq is Aran F Gallagher, Born New Zealand, based in Melbourne Australia. Both an Electronic Engineer and trained Keyboard player, Aran has combined Music production with self designed Analog FX and control gear from Frostwave (see link section). With this combination FREq has defined a unique and huge progressive sound engineered for maximum audio enjoyment.

The early formations of FREq began in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1990. Armed with a trusty AMIGA500, Octamed tracker, and a Roland JV880, FREq began to explore the depths of electronic dance music - shaping sonic structures influenced by early underground house and trance parties. Since this formation, FREq has become one of the top international progressive/trance artists in the scene. This has been due to the success of record releases and touring performances, such as; Fusion and VOOV Festival (Germany), Universo Parallelo (Brazil), Rainbow Serpent Festival, Outback Eclipse (Australia), Soulclipse(Turkey), Stargate(Tokyo Japan), Sonica(Italy) - as well as performances in Israel, Switzerland, Mexico, UK, USA, Brazil and many other countries across the globe! The first successful FREq Album, ALLOYS, was released on Positive Ion Records, New Zealand and was backed with a 12� EP on Euromedia Germany in 1997. The second FREq album STRANGE ATTRACTOR was released on Iboga records in 2004! The album receiving rave reviews from all sides of the scene from the progressive to the more trance keen... and it has already sold out of multiple pressings! The second killer album, �GOSUB 20� has a release date of May29th 2006! The new sonic creation represents a rich journey into deep, slick, and phat progressive music � a natural extension of the previous album - STRANGE ATTRACTOR. about Emok:
Emok is Mikael Dahlgaard and is living in Copenhagen, Denmark. Emok is one of the founders of Iboga Records. The label has existed since 1997 and is one of the biggest progressive labels in the world. During the time with the label Emok has been part of organizing various events and festivals in Denmark such as Camp Electric back in 2001. Besides the work on the labels Emok has been producing music in the Iboga studio in Copenhagen under various names. He has released two albums under the name Phony Orphants as well a bunch of tunes under the name Emok. Recently Emok started to produce his first solo album which is due to release in October 2007, the style is progressive house, progressive electro with a nice punch of energy. Besides that, Emok has been writing tunes with various producers like Ian Ion, Liquid Soul, Ace Ventura and Hydrophonic. Just shortly after launching Iboga Records back in 97, Emok started touring the world DJing and is today one of the most acknowledged DJs in the scene. Emok has recently started to perform his own live set which he has put a lot of effort into. The live set runs from the computer in 8 different channels and is accomplished with various sounds from keyboards and samplers, and is never played the same way twice. . . . .

about Maelstrom:
Maelstrom is the solo project from DJ Emok. DJ Emok is known for his work as one of the managers of Iboga Records and from his productions with the Phony Orphants, who he runs together with his friend Jeppe from Denmark.
With more than 10 years of experience in the electronic music scene, DJing, playing live sets and doing label work, Emok has found him self a personal style of the finest progressive sound.
His first Maelstrom album was released in November 2007 which included tracks made with artists like NDSA, Liquid Soul, Freq and Hydrophonic. With several tracks on various top 10 Emok has shown that his new project as Maelstrom is highly recommended from leading DJs in the dance scene. The Mealstrom live performance has been very popular among party people around the world, in places like Brazil, Greece, Switzerland, Germany, Japan and Mexico, just to name few.

Tech-house stone-facing from 9West, not a unit to be interrupted while deep in the mix of this, a furrow downwards to the earth�s core that sees the mood heave and swell to spell bad news. Come witching hour (or after the bomb�s dropped; there�s a certain post-apocalyptic calm meaning after effects can�t be far away), punters will move in time to this with an uneasy feeling lingering at the back of their minds. Not that 9 do anything drastic with their synth pops, hiccups and loops that wind on, but the atmospherics are akin to unseen forces making your moves for you. Good solid unsettling rhythmic mind control � it�s a silent stranger, but if looks could kill, West would be swimming in claret.
Refusing to ease up on the evils is the combative Noctornus2. A rippling, splintered synth line is at its centre that sounds like electrical current spilling out and scurrying indiscriminately, until some anxious synth shunts put the vibe on the verge of implosion, and robotic vocals enter the fray to crack the whip and up the worry. The essence of obdurate, the longer it goes on, the more people it picks off and sucks into its abyss. Again, the sleight of hand holds the key to the techno-charged apprehension.
The Airbus Modular mix of Noctornus2 completes the trio of venom accumulating just beneath the surface. Synths and squiggles gradually rise and come and go, and a static-ravaged section teases into thinking a gasket is soon to be blown, but again the overall atmosphere, through a simple chord change (that�s entrenched in the mix for full effect), is that you best get your running shoes on for what lies in wait around the corner.
