Hi All !
This time I choose to review Sandman's debut album - 'Witchcraft'. When this album released in the first time, I didn't know what trance is so when I saw Avatar releases it again, I immediately sit and hear it from the first second till the last second :
1 - Perfect Stranger
This classic album start with undefined style, a lot of elemnts together and the bpm go up and down...in this track I start to realize what Izki Levi did for get such a respect as he get today...but it's just the start.
2 - Flight Or Fight
Now the direction is clear - GOA ! the thing I like in Izik's trac is that you never hear the kick alone...always there is cool effect or element escorted and it's made the track very special...this one is example for it !
3 - Turtle Beach
10 minutes and 25 second of chaos ! I feel high when I hear this track and there are no limits all you need to do is to concentrate in the track and I promise your body will move without you do anything...it's a magic !
4 - Ghostrider (Time Tunnel RMX)
There are not much words to decribe this tune just get in the track and forget everything.
5 - Shockwave
The name here play a role because shockwave it's excatly what you feel when you hearing this tune...goa atmosphere all over and classic melodies that make your considerations mix up in your head 
6 - Nostradamus (The Prophecy RMX)
Dim atmosphere here...something unclear...very complicated, this is not track you can "digest" in the first time you hear it.
7 - Bad News (New Way)
In this track you can hear some strange melodies that goa is the first word you think in the same second yoyu hear those melodies...the atmosphere is sad a bit here like something bad happen (maybe I little exaggerate ).
8 - Mushroom Symphony
Tell you the truth...I heard this track few times continuity and I didn't find words to describe it (again ).
9 - Faith
This track didn't release in the original album and it's release here as bonous track. You can hear the diffrences between this one and the other tracks in the albums...the bass line here is more to the dance floor and the effects reminds me some effects of the present time like the vocal in the end.
All in all, it was nice experiment and this album help me understand how much efforts and emotions the artists putted in their track (there are also artists that still do it but not many ).
I want to thank Avatar-Records for this re-release, it's give me a chance to fill some thing that I missed...THANKS ! |

Amazing release!
Perfect Stranger is my track of the month... Mushroom Symphony is not far behind.
great job rereleasing this. keep them classics coming.

Sandman....
I still remember when this album was first released under the label of "Matsuri Productions". Back in the year of 1998 was a very progressive release. By progressive I mean innovative and not like the term of "progressive trance" that is used nowdays!
I am wondering what Itzik Levi is doing now. Is he still producing music?
This album is higly recomended for the fresh and new "psytrancers". In this way you can understand where "goa-trance" was and how was developed through the years with that kind of releases...
Have fun with this re-release...

It was tremendous release so I thank God and Avatar Rec. for bringing it back nowaday.

I have this album in its original form on Vinyl if anybody wants it.
It was great then and still is today I just need to get rid of all my Vinyl!!

The bonus track is great ona Sunday afternoon.
Been playing a lot of Shockwave recntly. I love old skool stuff nowadays, and this album was re-released at sucha good time. Need some quality today, and here it is. 'Remastered' and 'Re-wicked'.
