eine megalo to zori pou travas man but don"T worry next year samothraki will be back and i know you"ll be here at this forum to be against to this fest at this magic island cause you know better your reasons..hey?i know is hard for some of you cause samothraki is alive and didn"t get busted from the pigs but thats life..
anyway i just read the local newspaper from samothraki cause i"m still here at the island and the situation is like spiderman wrote before,,,
7 arrrests..
p.s. mr old friend i felt very bad like u when a girlfriend of me arrested from the pigs on saturday morning for some joints only and they took her at alexandroupoli but after some right movements from the security mamager from samothraki gathering he conviced them to let her free and the girl manage tobe back at the island in afternoon..
one of the highlights of the gathering i felt very happy..

I wasn't there too but they told me that the main stage sound was to loud and ppl can't sleep.
They told me that the waether was perfect and that was very bad because they have to dance day and night.

holding in my hands the august international mushroom magazine and reading straight from voov report.
- the police arrest 2 ppl and other 92 were kept temporarily.
same magazine report from full moon festival:
-the police arrest 14 ppl. 4 of them have to stay in jail. There were checks even at the fest site.
I am not mentioning the ammounts. Anyone can read this at mushroom magazine. But ppl got busted even for the "occasional spliff"

Watch myself??? ok i will. But what's it to you Tim? R u the organiser or something? And if you are why have you waited until after the party to let the rest of us know. Didn't you want to put your ass on the line?
And what do u mean "stop bullshitting about my country?" Am i supposed to be proud for not having the freedom to have a proper fest in Greece?
Anywayz let's set the record straight: I was in VooV and in Tshitraka this year and i can confirm that the police presence was rather heavy in both festivals. The difference between Germany and Greece is that in Germany the cops know that their job is to protect the citizens, even those who use drugs. So in both festivals they were after big dealers who were carrying large amounts of drugs for selling. AT NO TIME we were harassed by the police for being there or indeed for using small amounts of drugs.
Anywayz that is not the point. Police is everywhere, drugs are illegal and most of the time the organisers can do nothing about it.
The point is that the VooV crew immediately posted a message on their website informing the people of the situation, asking them to be extra vigilant, and directly accusing the police for taking overproportioned action. On the contrary the Samothraki gathering crew has kept ignoring our posts on the issue straight from the beggining dismissing all our concerns as if they were coming from drug addicts or rival organisers. My last post was just sarcastic because i really can't stand people who instead of being a bit more understanding towards the people they invite to their events they are trying to convince us that it is normal (if not desirable) for the police to raid parties and harrass people because they use small amounts of drugs.
Anywayz.
I have no problem whatsoever with Samothraki and i think it is great that people had fun there. What i can't stand is this abnoxious alliance in here consisting of 5-10 people who keep licking each other's asses, trying to excuse the inexcusables. We know that drug use is illegal but dont act as if you dont know what it means to attend a trance festival in Greece and what kind of action the police have taken in the past against partygoers.

In my humble opinion anyone can enjoy music wherever he /she likes ,abroad or inside the country.
But I think that i agree with Atlanticarks' subauditions ...You see, is not the police situation or the illegal/legal way goverment approaches drugs...Is the think that every fest or party that comes to an end here in Greece, we come back here, at our misserable forum, and end up a topic like there was somekind of war...Even the organizers come in with a very "gentle" way and end up shouting and cursing... From were all this anger springs?...
So I think we have to focus our though to very different things than the one we talking about each time a fest/party comes to an end................

mr atlanticark. Eternal motion was straight on top of the organising crew. You probably check the website (i guess). My ass is on the line from the begining of this effort and i don't have to shout it out loud.
You also check the flyers at tshitraka
there was a special announcement regarding drugs and a straight message to everyone of how carefull should they be. The same info was at the guidelines of the website.
Personaly i was checked over 3 times at the ports. No dog on the ppl only on their bags . Very polite police showing their id's
and thanking everyone for the understanding.
There was no raid at the fest area, and everything runed realy smooth.
So, to conclude. After several meetings with the police in alexandrupoli and samothraki, sth seemed to change at last. Ppl got the msg
and to be honest, i felt very relaxed watching the checks ending one after the other with no drugs found.
The voov organisation had their policy with the police. The samothraki gathering crew had another one etc etc.
So try to realise that every organisation has a policy. No need to remind all the time about the unacceptable raid on 2003.
Trust me. Sth changed. And this is thanx to the ppl, and thanx to the totaly diferent attidude of the police regarding party goers.

Not only they work together.They gave orange covering to some cops so they look like festival security and they let them in the festival area !!!!!!! And please organisers dont come and say that this is wrong info,i saw the white Cherokee and the four cops.The day before they had a "bloko" at Therma.
So i guess its not only up to us now. |

I don't care if there was 5000 or 3000 or 1000 or 100 ppl at the festival,i don't care if there was cops inside or outside the festival....
We have a realy great time there guys and you can't change that

old friend you think that you can launch such events without informing the police?
Erevos not even one person was hussled by the police inside the festival area.Police cars and officers are everywhere in every trance festival around the world.
the organisation of this event is beyond just a trance party organisation. Several ppl,officials, authorities helped this happening to run smoothly.
Finaly in general, everything turned out realy nice and this comes from the big majority of the ppl who were there.
Negative comments are always welcome, if they have a constructive based source. In this case (with the police) the samothraki gathering crew tried to have the best possible outcome.
And if we start reading all the posts from the begining (talking about dogs in the tents, police raid in the fest area,eisageleas of alexandrupoli etc etc,) then we can feel that our task to secure the festival has reached a proper level of success.
The crew wishes once more to thank every one for making this gathering a realy nice summer experience.

I agree with Tim with what he said.I understand that the big problem is on people from Thessaloniki and Athens who want to make a war behind the internet.Because no one can say anything face to face.And at least Mrs let people join and here in Greece.So much time we had problems with cops,now that we hadn't we have between us????
What is happening here???And always in these misserable topics u create to say your nonsenses???
Either u like it or not some people made a festival here in Greece and specific in Samothraki and everything gone well.Topics are for sharing our experiences and photos from the festivals we go,not to fight....Have u seen anything like this and in other festival's topics which take place in all over the world??I was in Sonica this summer and take a look at this festival's topics.....
Please gentlemen!!We are Greeks and must show politism much more than anyone else!!!
