Dali used to keep his painting equipment right next to his bed and once he woke up he immediately started to paint what he had seen in his dream.

That's pretty cool stuff. He also made two weirdo movies called "The Andalucian Dog" (1928) and "The Golden Age" (1930)

Check them out.. really psychedelic & twisted..

from what I've heard Dali was keeping a spoon on his bed or wherever so once the spoon fell on the floor he'd wake up and draw the visuals he was dreaming of.. :)

someone mentioned his work "persistence of memory" here.

I made one image dedicated to this work :)
on my page I called it Mush Mushi but later on when this image was published in the max4 bible book and other places I called it "persistence of mushroom". ;)
you can see it here: http://www.abiotic.net/dreamer/3d/mushi.htm

someone also mentioned here the Sphongled cover. I never really liked this one since the face showen there is actually an existing 3d object taken from the old 3dstudio dos version. I think it was called mask.3ds something. many artists take prepared objects and manipulate them in photoshpo, etc. but I always find it hard to appreciate it. the inlay work is great tho. :)
