I think this is the best thing ever becaus I would rather buy tracks that I like then settle for 2 or 3 thats on a cd I buy GOOD FORWARD THINKING!!!! leave it to saiko sounds to do something great! first they have enough time for me to hear a track on thier site and now thier dosing me with this!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU I hope this goes through AS LONG as I can get the same quality as on the cds I buy.
excuse me if I dream of whats not possible as I said before not really into the whole "compression thing" it makes me closter phobic!

Excellent innitiative. I'm with Krelm on the price4 issue. The prices he mentions seem reasonable.

FLAC or APE files is at least as good as on CD.
Lossless means that after decompressing you get the same data as before compression...like zip kindof.
They can even be better, since unlike data files CD's is never is 100% perfect and rely on error-correction which will degrade the audio.

Great initiative – both for those compilations and albums where there are only one or two good tracks, but hopefully you will also make vinyl-releases available for download. I’m all for Krelms suggestion concerning prices by the way, and I’m also with HandA on his suggestion on methods for payment.
Once again great idea – hopefully more shops will follow in the future

When do u believe that this will be up and running? any predictions? I would definetly not mind buying a few flac or ape files.

I would only be interested in 320k or lossless, the others don't make sense.
What about discounts for people who open an account with you?
Lets say I can open an account with you guys, I send you 100$ maybe I can get 10% off, or something like that?

Great idea, hopefully buyers would have access to your whole back catalogue. Most of what I'd be interested in buying is single tracks in lossless format from old compilations that aren't otherwise worth picking up. If you can make deals with distributors as a whole as opposed to just individual labels the appeal will increase - more that is available = better response, guarunteed.
Good luck on it!

I wonder if this will have any effect on the way labels sign artists and, more impoartantly, compile compilations. Hopefully this will be the end of filler tracks on compilations.

We will probably release a simple version, with nice discounts for the purchase of whole albums, in around 2 months. We in the finals stages of developing a completely new front end for our site, so i might very well come out at the same time, |

thanks Spindrift
so do you have to convert these FLAC files to wav before you put it on the cd?
|

Many burning programs, such a nero, which is probably the most widely used, have plugins for FLAC and Monkey's so it's just like burning any audio disc in nero
