I truly love this guy and all 5 of his albums. I think they are all amazing and I have been itching to see him play live for years and years and years and years.

A lot of people seem to have a misconception about his awesomeness and once they hear him, they tend to get into it.

I decided to dedicate this morning's radio show to Rip Van Hippy and his music. If you haven't given him a listen yet, I encourage checking him out.

Here are links to the two hours of today's show:

Hour 1 - http://archive.kpsu.org/audio/download/15285/FABULOUS%21_Fridays_%289am_on_Aug_8th%2C_2008%29.mp3
Hour 2 - http://archive.kpsu.org/audio/download/15286/FABULOUS%21_Fridays_%2810am_on_Aug_8th%2C_2008%29.mp3

Playlist of the show:

This post isn't about acquiring new listeners to the radio show, this isn't self promotion. I am just offering, my thoughts, of a 2-hour "Best of Rip Van Hippy" journey. Maybe some of you will listen to it and decide that you actually like Rip Van Hippy. And that would be awesome!

Anyone else like the Rippy?
Anyone have other suggestions and recommendations for those of us who do like him? I listen to lots of the Psy-Harmonics and Creative Space style stuff, but am always looking for more!

Cheers!

Great stuff!, nice radio show. about music, i recommend to keep your eye outside the "psy-trance" labels. A lot of wacko Super psychedelic music floating around

All the best

heyy adam!
excellent topic about an extraordinary artist.
i'd suggest you check out also a japanese artist called bisk. ofcourse it's not the same as geoffrey's music and it's not psy but it's been one of my favourites for some time in odd electronica:

Jurgen, I heard you quit making music.
Is this true?

I hope not!

And yeah, I like to keep myself informed of "not psy trance" labels as well as the psy-stuff. I'll check out Bisk, although it looks like Bisk hasn't released anything in years           nlm - http://goaconstrictor.com v4.2

no, it's not true. i haven't written any new music for a year now but i feel i'm just waiting for a monster of an inspiration to hit me so to say... i got some album ideas stacked up

so what if he hasn't released in years if there are several "older" albums waiting for you to discover them. this is music atleast for me that doesn't grow old.

Jurgen,
Glad to hear you haven't thrown in the towel yet. I look forward to hearing what you do next.

As for my comment about Bisk no longer releasing music, it was because it is sad to find a new artist/act and listen to all of their albums only to find out that there will never be another.

Still checking them out though. Just sucks to find good music that has reached a dead end.

Oh, and Zoolog, the five are:

Waking up is Hard to do!
When Bernie was a Tree
The Whole World is Hip and That's not Cool
Tengu Moon (Collab with Eiji called Rip 'n' Eiji)
Searching for Love (Rip Van Hippy and Rie Lambdoll)

Cheers!

yeah, but i'd take it the other way around and be happy that there are a couple more brilliant albums out there shining their comforting light on us and keeping the black and boring mass mediocracy somewhat at bay
