Retro - 10 years of Israeli Trance

As a follow up to my article of AP vs IM at ynet, im working on an article regarding the different generes in trance, both old school and new school.
add to that this new comp i just got:
Retro - 10 years of Isareli trance (double CD, cd 1 mixed by AP, CD 2 mixed by Eyal Yanovich of Hommega Pride and Infected's own I-zen).

6. pigs in space - visitors (part I)
7. Children of the doc - Bionic Bong
8. Passenger - Reborn (Mfg Remix)
9. Psysex - L.S.Dance
10. sandman - natural born Killer
11. california sunshine - summer 89
the sleeve attached to the CD (not the inner sleeve, but a far larger booklet) containes tidbits about each artist and the track included in the comp.
All in all, a very complete CD. the first one consists mainly of full on/Goa/Psy at it's best. the second CD contains more clubby tunes, but still maintains a stable feel to it all.
Personal Favs: 1(!), 6, 7, 8 (CD1)
CD2 - all!! :-)

thoose cd's contain really the classics of isreali trance from the start.
great cd's , buy them , it's a must in anyone's collection.

i saw this c.d in the shops today :)
i grabbed some nice promotion stickers and a - Reborn poster ( seems like a cool C.D)
i have most of the tracks on this retro album ( well who doesn't?)
and it seems really nice.
nice review ;)

You know? It's weird that they say 10 years of israeli trance when the oldest traxx here are from 1995 (Shiva, Butterfly Trip).
Moreover, it was 1993 when the Israeli lables (NMC, Phonokol & Melodia) started to product trance cds but the most of the traxx on them or even all of them wheren't Israeli at all.
10 years? A little lame that show us the other interests of producting this project except of the 10 years of Israeli trance celebration.

well, from Isratrance's Artist DB:
. "In 1989 Lior and Avi first teamed up. Avi was already a well-known DJ (playing Acid, Techno, New Bit etc.). They created their first group and named it SFX (short for sound effects). They started doing gigs in all underground clubs around Israel and made their first breakthrough in 1991 with their single Monster Mania that came out on the Belgian Company Music Man. They started working on an album and later that year while Yaniv was still serving at the Israeli army, they decided to try their luck at the big apple."
so unless i am mistaken, AP is the first and only trance group in israel :-)

Snir, you're wrong.
Let there be light, Whale, Butterfly Trip are all from 1994. I'm sure there are more, but I just don't know... But still, 10 years -> 1991, I think that by that time trance has already developed a bit in Israel.
About the cd, I heard some tracks, I can just say it's a nice compilation. Can't comment on the mixing though.
