People! .. the discussion is about a dip in releases and now about genre bashing. So, please stop thie genre bashing talk. I am sorry if my post started it, it was not the intention.
Yea, the christmas thing is convincing. But, isn't it possible that the releases can be spread over the months. I mean, there are enough compilations ready, I believe so. These could have be released to cover for this dip in releases. Don't you think so too?

Its hard to really tell, since there are probably more factors at work here.
First of all, the christmas thing.... but also, what about holidays ? Could it be that your average dark psy label man (who is probably both dj, partyorganizer and producer himself), goes somewhere to party during the cold christmas weeks ?
I think so... Partying usually slows down productivity.
However, there are most likely even more factors... for instance, what about distributors ?

About 95% of the dark psy being released is utter crap in my ears, the same goes for full on.
I mean, much of it is downright embarassing, cover art etc.
I feel bad for the labels and artists who really have something to offer, then again I dont think I or anyone else should tell others what they want to do with their ressources(money), if they want to release their "art", they should have the freedom to do so.
Anyways, the more gets released, the less profitable it is, meaning that labels which are not run by rich people stop being able to release music.
Perhaps it also has something to do with releasing stuff before christmas.

I thought the releases sort of stalled a bit before Christmas actually..I may be wrong but I think the new CBL was the only buy-worthy release within the few weeks before Christmas..
Agreed about most darkpsy recently being crap.. |

Yeah, its not the genre as such thats to blame, its just something that happens when you get a lot of volume.
Doesnt even mean there are less quality dark psy releases, just means that there are more crap ones.
So, its not genre bashing as such.
Just something we have to deal with, and something that will affect sales negatively.

I really wish for some quality releases also, i think that much of the music that is coming out is pretty too much the same, there is not character in the music and the quality is also not so good...I also vouch for quality not quantity...
