My favorites of his are "Thriller" and a remake of the Beatles song "Come Together".

And if you listen to these two pieces you can very easily detect a hint of what was later to become Psy trance. There are definite roots there imo !

As far as performances are concerned, he IS the king.

A genius who wrote music that was ahead of it's time and had influence on many music genres, ours too.

Man In The Mirror.

I love MJ's this kind of music better.
Mushrooms make you do crazy stuff. Look at Mario he jumps on animal heads and fights with dragons.

Due to my childhood experiences I would have to disagree. If I found my favorite psy artist was a child molester I would instantly dislike them and would want to punch them in the face. Sure cut your face up and fill it with plastic and even mess with monkeys but leave the little boys alone!

true but a lot of children will be safer now

All i know is that his music was what i used to like.

Now if there was artist consider your fav psy artist and he does some weird stuff like would you stop listening to his music?

There are lot of us who do weird stuff but no one figures that out.
Maybe in this case he got caught or some one knew they could a buck or two on it some they jumped on the bandwagon.

Well he won the trials and then he is an innocent man! People who blindly believe anything the medias say should go back to school! I hate this "public conviction squat" mentality!

If any MJ was a victim of people's inner ugly side!!! Yes he was weird (no wonder with his upbringing) but that does not automatically make any man or woman a child molester!

well, he didn't touch me... there or anywhere else i know. it was a bad joke.
mj gets my sympathies. a handfúl of wicked tracks (mainly on "off the wall") for sure. a tragical figure with a decent voice who definately knew how to wiggle his body to the beat. but let's remember now that he had a bunch of producers who atleast co-wrote or wrote the music he performed like freddy perren, rod temeprton and quincy jones. he wasn't a one man wonder like some so desperately want to see him but a truly mindboggling result of a huge team effort or rather an experiment.

oh, and WTF? why are we discussing mj on the front page as it's not related to psy trance and a more important topic: the soccer world cup 2010 is pushed into oblivion:

Actually MJ wrote a lot of his own music! The masterpiece "Billie Jean" was written by himself and "produced" by Quincy Jones. Which mean Quincy Jones helped polish the song but he never wrote it. Ergo MJ wrote a lot of his own music and used very talented producers just as many artist or bands do.

Early Version written by MJ

I'm sorry but never liked his music, his moves or him in general.

I find him about as fascinating as Max Hardcore... Thanks to M Jackson we have a pop genre full of plastic people, plastic music and pornographic lyrics that make no sense. Boo frigging hoo!

Wow how ignorant. The man was musically more talented than virtual any artist in this scene and was more influential than 99.99% people who ever recorded a song. Yea ok, you're not a fan but his influence is as big as Pink Floyd's, Bob Dylan's, Jimmi Hendrix' and all the big ones.
Ignorance is a bliss.

Yes and currently I listen to less that 99% of this scene

Secondly, just because something is influential doesn't mean it was good. I'd give examples but they are best not put on a Israeli forum

Lastly, after all these years on trance forums Pavel, do you really think I give a f*ck about what you have to say anymore?           I hate you, you hate me, we are all so hap hap happy!

WOW....We cannot even have a R.I.P thread in this forum, without changing it to an argument.

How sad for our generation!

You don;t know my age and therefor from what generation I belong

All I did was post my opinion about Michael Jacks, just because I did not enjoy his contribution to society in life i was attacked by the always awesome Pavel...

Personally, this thread has NOTHING to do with psy trance and should be in the music section.

I note that Ronnie James Dio's death was told to move there?

R.I.H Jackson, one less child molester in this world!

ps he only got off coz he was a celebrity... the U.S legal system is a joke!

Man in the mirror lyrics are great, a well sample of them in a nice psy track will be great.           "The dedication to repetition — the search for nirvana in a single held tone or an endlessly cycling rhythm — is one of electronic music's noblest gestures."

I take it all back...

he was amazing...

so sexy and awesome...

best lyrics and so trippy...

i mean where would the music industry be without him?

seriously, he revolutionized everything in the music world!

truly the beethoven of the modern pop era!

and dancing wise... I mean even Baryshnikov couldn't compare to a moonwalk!!

How could they even considered putting such a talent away in prison for molestation?

And I mean his behavior was just a symptom of his suffering as child, it's not like every other bloody criminal claims such a thing!

I hate you, you hate me, we are all so hap hap happy!
