What I really hate during Life-Set's are questions like that:

He: Hey sorry could you play track number 3 from the actual Astrix Album?

Me: Nah, sorry it's a life set.

He: Ah, ok

He: (After 15min and 5 Jägermeister later i guess) Hey could you play something from Yahel?

Me: (Thinking what the f...) Nah, sorry it's a life set.

Another guy: Hey, could you bring some Day Din?

Me: Nooo!!! It's a fucking live set and i am playing psytrance, do you see any pitchers connected?

Argh...it's really hard to make me upset, but this is one thing i really hate. If you don't like the music, you can wait for the next DJ.

How's about your stories?

I once asked someone during a liveset if they could play a song... it was one of THEIR songs.

They said "No, I can't..."

I wanted to belike "If it were really a live set you could!"

Happened to me as well.
That artist actually had his album tracks laid out one after another in cubase.
No modification, not beatmix. Just fade in and out.

if you really can't live without that song leave the gig go into your car and listen to it, but leave people in peace or alternative, learn making live, the first seems more realistic...

I was once doing lights for a large 2000+ person event.
I was in a small staged area, in the middle of the dancefloor (Front Of House) position. Next to the sound guy.
So we're there, stood behind the big audio desk and the big lighting desk, and a punter comes up to me and says....."hey DJ....can you turn it up a bit?"

I turned the 8 x 1000watt strobes to max....and gave him a wink. I think he got the message ;-)

Ohh yes! This didn't happen to me but to my friend once in Germany. A guy came up in the middle of a live-set and asked if they had any hip-hop instead. He did not like "techno".
