1. I have heard of both labels.

2. I have mostly quit buying it because labels are extremely slow to offer digital downloads. I have used a few digital download portals but they tend to be slow, limited, EXPENSIVE. I don't want a $21 download from Beatport. I don't want to have to pick tracks (get less music) rather than enjoy albums. I DO NOT BUY CDs in this day and age, nor do I buy tapes, 8-tracks or vinyl LPs. I either buy losless digital downloads (if possible) or else use torrents.

3. I would buy .WAV, .FLAC or .OGG - Absolutely. Anything that is CD quality - or BETTER. I am interested in audio quality standards evolving, rather than downgrading or ("paying the same or MORE for less quality.") It has to be lossless and have NO DRM. Stuff like iTunes is horrible and I will NEVER suppor it.

4. I think lossless digital downloads should cost LESS than a CD. It should be a way of cheaper distribution, not more expensive. Digital should promise to bring us more music for cheaper - not less music for more money. I would pay up to $5 for a .mp3 album and up to $12 for a lossless / .WAV album. Otherwise I will either not listen to it, or just burn / torrent it.

5. I would be very interested in buyng high-quality psy merchandise. Stuff like HD-Video or DVDs sounds good, too.

Here's the magic formula for success = lossless, DRM-free, cheaper than CD! Otherwise you will just have 95% or you releases pirated, unfortunately, unless you present a convenient and attractive distribution model.

- you heard of Noise Poison and Parvati Records before?

yes

- you buy music frequently? cds or even already use digital download portals?

cd´s yes + digital download only once

- would you buy .mp3 and .wav files in a webshop offering these files and guarantees high quality standards?

yes of course why not - but i am freak for cd´s..so i would still prefer CD´s

- how much would you pay for a .mp3 as well as .wav file?

one euro for both - independently of the quality presented.(when you buy a cd the music comes in wave, then later you can pass it to mp3´s if you wish)(downlaoding well mp3´s is smaller, but fopr those who have the chance of downlaoding big files the price should be the same)

- would you also support us in buying merchandising articles like shirts and hooded sweaters?

sure why not? if the prices were acessible, and the desings were from my likes

The formula is really simple, just as Brett says: "lossless, DRM-free, cheaper than CD!" CDs cost about, say, $12 retail. Assuming 10 tracks per CD, individual songs should not cost more than $1.20 in WAV/lossless format.

I think most labels look at it this way: with a CD the customer is obligated to purchase all the songs at once whereas with digital downloads customers can pick and choose. This translates into an overall loss for the label... there are two things to say to this: 1) raise quality standards and avoid the "2 good tracks per compilation" thing that is going on these days... and 2) if nothing else, at least apply a discount for users downloading an entire release. For example, if you are going to charge $2.00 per WAV, a 10 track CD would then cost $20.00 to download--absolute insanity. Better to say $2.00 per WAV and $12 for all 10, you understand? All bases are covered at that point.

1 - Yes and yes;

2 - Only digital dl.

3 - Sure, why not??

4 - 3 bucks tops.

5 - If I like them, sure.

That's how things will work in a near (at least I think so) future.

CD's will no longer have the same strength they have today.
Mainly cause of the costs, like Basilisk just mentioned.

Rgds and good luck with your project.

Yes

Yes,,,i like cds

nope i dont get to hold an mp3 in my hand like a cd

mp3 and wav are good but there is not much excitment in buying a digital code, no artwork, no booklet...buying mp3 and wavs is very boring and non glamorous...unless off course if its straight from the artist themselves when they are on your friend lists or messengers etc..
i'd never pay for mp3 or wav file as the chances of loosing it are far greater than a cd, even though the cd can break stolen etc, a mp3 can be just click and delete or lost in the system crash

i would definitiely buy merchandise like shirts hoodies etc i have to like them thats all           When death comes to your doorstep, make sure you are alive

I prefer original CD's
No Digitaldownloads so far.

As long as you offer CD's I'll buy them.
If you decide to throw your music only in Digitaldownload I would think about coz I dont want to miss especially your style of music.

Beatport standard: maximum USD 3.5 for a Wav.
