Psytrance party coming soon in San Diego

I am shooting for a saturday night party at a club near downtown San Diego. Just trying to work out the details with the club. I am hoping that it will happen mid-March.
This will the first Psytrance party on a Saturday, at a club in a while.
I hoping that we can get some people down from Orange County and LA.
I am planning this as the start of a series of parties in San Diego.
Line-up and dates to come soon.

Wow! Great! Finaly something starts to happend in San Diego! Isn't it a good place for psytrance? Lets make it up!!! We are all for it, just waiting for the right moment, and right people who is going to start it.

word, keep me posted kerry. i know kava lounge is a bunch of psy hating fuckers, too bad. that club is 5 blocks from my house and is very nice inside.
It seems that every single club venue in SD just plays the absolute worst music ever created. Seriously, when they listen to demos, they must say "this guy really sucks, he trainwrecked every mix and he's playing music that's 5 years old. Lets headline him! PsyTrance? what's that? who cares, we want house music. Really, really bad house music with lots of saxophones and male vocals going oooh baby"
i still wish we could re-harness the energy we had when we were throwing Native:State parties in North Park back in '01 at the old bowling alley. now its fuckin condos.
god damn i hate this city, thank god LA is only 2 hours away so at least we can party outdoors. the weather and women are just too hard to leave behind though. 
If you can find the club Psyclops, I will be there.

Good news!
I moved to San Diego just a couple of months ago from New York and looking for something happening in San Diego. In New York I was and still am part of DTC (www.tdcny.com) and we did and do grat parties there.
Let's start something like that in San Diego. You can count on my help. I also compose music and play it live.

really awesome to hear something is in the works for this. I think the last psy event I attended in SD was at Recognize, Tom Hidro played a phattie set and gave me a free CD! keep up the good work san diego ppl!

thank you for coming out that night 420, it was fun to meet some new people and get some cds out. i don't play much down here anymore because the clubs have gone completely commercial.
too bad recognize was so far out of the city, it could've had some potential if placed in an area that didn't have bars in all the windows of the houses in the hood.
back in 2001 the native:state events helped open quite a few minds with crossovers from the local rave scene, which is very tight and intimate and i have been performing here in that scene since 1997. The energy was incredible, we received many compliments from people who had never heard trance of this caliber. alot of people slowly converted to the outdoor party scene as i did.
there were also those genuine spirits that made the trek down from LA for a couple of our shows, we made a lot of connections in those times.
i know that people would really give this music a chance with the right venue and completely unique sounds from the regular circuit djs. although, this city is primarily tourists and military so people tend to move around a lot and its hard to build a large local vibe like LA.
but, it can be done, it just needs a venue owner to have faith in the music and its healing power. plus, everybody will dance their ass off and get thirsty, thus keeping the barkeep busy and the club selling liqour.

thank you for the support manny, it has been extremely hard to find a location that wants to break away from their asshole alcoholic customers that demand top 40 and shitty house music.
when we had native:state, the only place that let us use their space was an Industrial music club. We did 9 parties at his location. after he saw the amount of success after filling his venue every party, he raised the rent to the point where we could only break even if we charged $20 cover, for a space that only holds 200 people.
Now, that club is a goddamn Vespa Scooter dealership, the owner moved out of town because of the same reasons we party outside of the city.
lack of interest for anything outside of MTV or XM Satellite Electronic Music stations, from the general public. This is why san diego sucks gigantic rhino balls.
from the sounds of it, there are more people in SD interested now, so hopefully we can reach all of those people and start a musical revolution, again.
please come support LA!!!!! we need numbers to keep it alive, san diego is one giant Corporate Office now. rent on the bars is so expensive that they only think about $$$$$, they don't care about vibe, music, decorations or anything else.
If there's a baseball game on TV, they will put it on and make the DJ's turn the sound system down a little because the local drunks want to watch the game, not listen to trance music. I know this from first hand experience at a place called Tivoli's in downtown. assholes.

It's funny but the last time I was in San Diego I was sittin on the cliff at Swami's with my son and his homies after surfing all day, watching the sun going down with some chill trance bumpin out the car...
It's moments like this... sunset on the beach, hippie surfers smokin a joint nearby nodding to the beat... makes me feel san diego would really dig psytrance.
... then my thoughts digressed to seeing hot and trendy beach bunnies going nuts to Astrix at the gaslamp...
Either way, psytrance in san diego almost seems inevitable in due time if you guys keep at it. Good luck
