im askin 1st, is there "anyTHING" like the flash site of di.fm/emguide/ just for Psychedelic trance.

if not, why not make one

starting with the goa trance, sub genres, who created that sub genre, wich track, a sample of it, till 2006...even experiments
thats all actualy...           PSYKS

sounds like a logical project for a psytrance wiki to tackle.           The IsraTrance MySpace Group:

i think people begin to get too caught up in labeling and sub-genrefication. dark, full on, light, progressive, etc etc etc. what happened to it all just being "psy"?

music should really just fall into two categories:

1 - "I like it."
2 - "Not my cup of tea."

@s0ft, exactly

@oran, read my question again.

@mist, well i think (just think) every genre should have an ID, the "I Like It" and "Ugly" should be more for personal taste, brain ordering...           PSYKS

well, that would be great if you liked every style of psytrance. but im most cases, there is a subgenre or two that you don't like. so useing spacific id's seems to make a little more sense to me.

Overzealous mods are once again trying to nullify discussion.

I'm writing an article on this very subject... what would you like to hear discussed? It's not specifically about 'subgenres' per se, but I am writing about sounds and movements. What "the Elmshorn Sound" indicates, for example. I figure it might be useful as a sort of glossary, but I sure as hell know any written content on this subject is going to be largely disagreeable based on everyone's wildly varying subjective opinions of music. I still think it's worth doing though...

lol.
i was just trying to express that, in my opinion, people go a tad overboard pigeon-holing the music into smaller and smaller subcatagories....

I would be interested in finding out if there is some reliable way to classify music into the familiar categories based entirely on its physical paramaters. That meaning that a computer could look at the datafile and classify the tunes with reasonable accuracy. Does anyone think this would be possible? useful?
