I would add 2 the highly rec. list: Love, Country Joe & The Fish, Quicksilver Messenger Service, early Bob Dylan, Captain Beefheart &HMB, Iron Butterfly, Crazy World Of Arthur Brown, Donovan, Melanie, The Lovin' Spoonful (some), many more ov them, fckn memory =)
They're just singing the songs w/ guitars, mostly, but the vibe of the first psy-revolution is absolutely mindblowing =)

Parliament/Funkadelic, their first albums are truly psychedelic-funk.These early Funkadelic albums are guitar dominated funky psychedelia, with front-man George Clinton. Album names are:
Funkadelic-Funkadelic(1970)
Funkadelic-Free Your Mind and Your Ass Will Follow (1971)
Funkadelic-Maggot Brain (1971)-(personal favourite !)
Parliament-Mothership Connection (1975)
