Psychedelic Dream Temple == dead

Hello friends,
I'm very sad to announce that Psychedelic Dream Temple in Camden Town, London will cease to exist in its current form due to financial problems.
There is a farewell party this Friday featuring quality progressive psy-trance. If you are interested in buying some good Mackie speakers, amps, various cafe equipment, etc. for a good price, please ask to speak to Nigel at the shop.
This is the death of a true London institution after five years, and a loss of a great place to get music, chill and party in the city.
Psy DMT shop & cafe == R.I.P. 
May the PsyDMT parties live on and thanks to all the crew that made it a great place in years past!

A real tragedy - no doubt the psyDMT has fallen victim to online music stores and of course the illegal downloads that threaten the scene so much |

nooooooo!!! The dream temple is one of my favourite places to chill. The chill-out nights they have had were all awesome. I also have fond memories of the Alchemy party not so long ago. Even though it was a small place, it always had so many happy smiling people all the time and then there was also the chai factor. Loads of respect to the owners who according to me have contributed so much! a great loss indeed |

Bummer.... The end of an Era for sure......
Thanks to Nigel, Farrah (yeah I know I know.. but her input can not be denied  ), Rodrigo, Nat, Leo et al ~for giving the London 'Psy Trance' Scene a symbolic "H.Q" ~ as well as a perfect environment to chill, hang, drink mint tea, meet friends etc over these years
...What the Hell we gonna do now???

i agree.
psy dream temple were not buying in many of the new psy releases for some time now and with about 300 people a day waiting in the soulseek queues for my latest release i cant say im suprised that this has happened.
if there is something positive to be gained from the illegal downloads that is it has increased awareness of our music and made it available to people who have no access to a store (looks like London is becoming one of those 'places'!) and lo there are more people attending parties in the uk than say 5 years ago.

i have to say it will be strange not having the dream temple there, many memories of diving in to buy music, have tea and escape the techno eminating from aaa!
plus i never had the chance to go to one of their parties...

Thanks Stephan for that , couldn't quite bring myself to do it , say it. Thanks to all thoase lovely people responding to Stephans announcement. Main thing is we have a party to comiserate with. We hav'nt had one at the shop for some time due a pending liscensing prosecution, so we have to make this private. Oh no that's terrible! A real shock even though I knew there had been problems for a while. Someone was asking me only the other night where I got all my music from and the only single place I could name where most of it has come from is PSYDMT. I know I've not been in for a while due to moving to Devon, but that still makes me really sad; even more so because I won't be able to be there for the party. Good luck to everyone there with whatever the next chapter holds for you, and thanks for all the good times.
