recommended anime movies:
OK, Ghost in the Shell sucks (and is not psychedelic), Akira is good but only borderline psychedelic, anything by Miyazaki (the king of anime, no doubt) is great - Sprited Away (very psychedelic), Princess Mononoke (also), Kiki's Delivery Service (not really psychedelic), Porco Rosso (ditto) and so on, and actually, anything by Ghibli (THE studio) is usually a classic. Animatrix also deserves a mention, as it IS great, but it is a combination of small movies, not a big one.
Recomended non-anime animated movies:
Alice in Wonderland, Yellow Submarine... I don't bother with others.
Recommended TV animation:
Serial Experiments Lain also deserves a second mention, because if any animation could be called psychedelic while having cohesive characters and a complex plot line - THIS IS THE ONE. Invader Zim on the other hand just has brilliant dialogues and just loads of total insanity (THE PANTS COMMAND ME, do not ignore my veins!), created by one of my favorite animators - Jhonen Vasquez. Good call on Ren&Stimpy (even though I'd not really define it as psychedelic).
Also, Monty Python's "Something Completely Different" with it's crazy animated passage sequences (which are just brilliant) should also be mentioned.

moonshine has a whole series of dvd's with comp graphics & music, though the music is more on the progressive side. |

This Episode is very Psychedelic. Lila has very strange "dreams" all the time. Faces on the Walls and things like that... |

REN & STIMPY - i wish the producers could make new episodes. the colors and the humor of this cartoon is great!
AKIRA - is a great anime that you can "fly" with the perfection of the animations.
SOUTH PARK - is good for who like of some "black humor" (i dunno how i can express it in english), lot of famous artists that they make look like stupid or something, i just love this one!
i think that's all..

There's a great animated movie based on Alice in Wonderland called "Alice" by the Czech director Svankmeier.
There used to be a Goa/Anime club night where I live a while back.. that was cool. |

in Nickelodeon there's a cartoon called Invader Zim (i think that is the name in english,in spanish is "Invasor Zim")its about an extraterrestrial kid that has been sent to conquer the Earth,its such a cool cartoon,very twisted

Invader zim is cool.
i like the Nick's shows. some of them are really surreal, like cow and chicken, Dexter etc.,

i like telly tubbies... freaky shit the sun is a baby and these creatures have televisions in their belly.. sucking up viberations from the sun and lookin withing themselves into their tellies going into a psychedlic adventure into another realer world... OOOFFF!!!!
