Does anyone know a program(s) that can convert a wav or mp3 file into a set of symbols that can be key-ed into a telephone (or otherwise uploaded into it).
Preferably, in the format as on www.infected-mushroom.de...

No kidding.
There are programs that convert WAVs into MIDIs; and I heard that there are programs that convert MIDIs into the set of symbols (referred to above).
Since I last heard it (over a year ago) - surely smth more convenient should have been invented...
Any ideas?

Well, most trance tracks are simply too complex to be converted to ringtones. Trust me - I tried..

my friend has a phone that plays a sound file whenever he gets a call. his ringer at the moment is "answer the fucking phone!"
i thought it would be cool to change the sound file to actual clips of songs instead of the beeps and blips of regular phones. |

most of the tracks dont have a specific melody and in ringtones...that might sound a little weird (imagine beep beep (a hard-deep beep) and then again beep |

it will be very cool if we can do that but unfortunaly we can't. if u realy want a trance ring buy a phone with real rings........

It's not about how it would sound (shanti/groovy/rocking or not)...
It's merely about *THE NAMES OF THE PROGRAMS* that can convert audio files... (the rest is a matter of taste)

It's not possible to convert. It is possible to convert monotonous melodies maybe, but a whole track is quite impossible.
