On August will have a djs contest in Chile...but i dont know much about it...i never saw a psytrance contest here in Brazil...

i dont think its possible, i mean if your talking about the x-ecutioners, or dj craze theyll take out a psy dj any days. not hating on psy but psy dj competition just doesnt make sence to me. maybe breaks work but not psy in my opinion. psy djs dont even scratch usualy atleast i dont hear it much. but maybe instead of a battle they could just play a party |

No, but "psy" DJ's should have the advantage of bending and twisting the sound. Using all the effects and nobs to trip the tripper out

why not house, house is more soulful then psy trance.
why does everyone stay in their comfort zone. its ok guys to listen to other music its ok belive me youo can still wear your indian clothes |

The only thing i know about psy-dj contests is u have to make (an example) 7 musics in 7 minutes (the faster turnover) or something like that...

Most DJing contest rely on tricks, flashy gimmicks, or stage presence - with the exception of turntablism, which is something else completely. Flow is the holy grail of trance mixing, and this greatly complicates the logistics of any theoretical live contest as you might have in the house music scene. Any such contest for trance mixing would just be a farce for this very reason, imho.
Take it online and have a panel of judges to review long recorded sets and you might have something to work with...

there is 1 competition in Cyprus acctually  Best psy artist of the year award....
but you really cant blame thoze guys..not very serious crowd there so they have to find ways to entertain themselfs
On the other hand everyone's a 'dj' nowdays so why bother 
The real contest imo is on the dancefloor

totally agree here its not about stage presence here like other genres,its al about the music.
in PSY the djs are judged according to their style,and most often the story they create with the music they play.....
we cant have a contest maybe a party ........

Infected is high up on a international "Best Dj" vote. hahahhahah, isn’t that funny? hahahha. Man, real DJ's exist not in this scene (except a few exceptions) Other genres rule this scene. Besides, when not about pure talent, it's about popularity. |

Un4tunate that's true...  but who really like and care about the dj quality knows " who is the man(or girl)"
Hey Psyprus i totally agree with u!!
"The real contest is on the dancefloor" and the judges are those who stay closer to the PA'system... next time i'll bring a pen and a paper to give score to the best dj eheheheheheheh...like an olympic games
