Prooved Vol 2

After the first Prooved compilation in 2002 burned up dancefloors worldwide, Christian Wedekind (aka D-Nox) and Tobias Bayer have compiled a superb assortment of progressive gems for the much-awaited follow-up on Plastik Park Records. Each of the 8 previously-unreleased tracks crosses borders between progressive house and trance, suiting equally a morning time open-air groove or a packed & sweaty club floor. Both veterans and newcomers mingle to create what is sure to be one of the top progressive hits of 2004. Prepare…

01. Motion - Fuzz
Already known for their psy-trance project Teraktys, these two talented Frenchmen turn in a wonderfully emotional opening track reminiscent to the sound of Cass & Slide. Starting with a long floating intro, Fuzz quickly gets to business with a driving groove. This track will certainly grab both the feet and hearts of trancers through its combined attack of a bouncing bassline, chunky sample-work, and catchy melodic hook.

02. Eelke Kleejn – Travelling
Following his underground hit EP 4.5 Billion Years/Knowledge Base on Segment Records, Netherlands native Eelke Kleejn creates a progressive masterpiece complete with pumping percussion, heavy FX, and dubby chords. A huge ethereal break gives way to a powerful closing riff which will be sure to leave the dancefloor in pure mayhem.

03. Absolut & Balde - Pure Edge (Engelspost Rmx)
A name already familiar to most progressive aficionados, the Swiss master Andre Absolut has an impressive discography with releases on top labels like SOG, Sprout, Vapour, Ritmic and others. Newcomers Engelspost, fresh from writing a remix for Peter Gabriel’s new single “Burn You Up, Burn You Down” take on remixing duties. The result is a commanding peak-time prog-trance monster sure to work over any dancefloor. Pure Edge combines a gentle yet intentional groove, entrancing percussion, and a melodic harmonious melody to create a magical charm sure to be one of the hits of 2004.

04. D-Nox & Beckers - My Number One
After a year’s work in the studio, Christian Wedekind (D-Nox) and Frank Beckers (Space Safari) are finally ready to unveil their cutting edge creations to the world! Christian’s many years as a floor-rocking DJ and Frank’s long experience as an expert producer form the perfect fusion in My Number One. With flawless arrangement, a positive feel and a strong dose of pressure and atmosphere, this is one tribal progressive affair that dancefloors will not soon forget! Watch for further releases from this duo on Sprout Music.

05. Vision & Canedy - Dusk
Fresh off their album Another Life on Hadshot, as well as 12” releases on Plusquam, Avalanche and Earregular, German duo Marco Mellmann and Marc Vision show here what they do best. Tribal percussion, deep bass, and eerie atmospheres combine in Dusk to create a psychedelic-progressive work of art destined to move butts and leave the legs sore. Yeaah.

06. Fitalic - Bustanovice
Fitalic are Robin Fitter and Jeroen Wunderlich from the Netherlands. Having released several successful singles on Bedrock, Vapour and Sprout, they give their best effort yet with Bustanovice! With an emotional bassline, catchy melody, dubby chords, and a massive breakdown, this is destined to be a worldwide dancefloor anthem. (Look out for this track and remixes on Sprout!)

07. Qualia - Jogg Beat
After 3 productive years in the studio, Slovenian duo Alan Roposa & Maja Gaber, aka Qualia showcase their debut track on Plastik Park before a 12” release on London-based Minimal Records. A heavily funk-tastic bassline and dynamic riffs create enormous drive. Jogg Beat contains enough no-frills energy meant to give the dancers the aural food they crave.

08. Space Safari – I know the way
A long time secret weapon in his DJ sets, Space Safari’s unique track I know the way is finally unleashed upon the world. An upbeat atmospheric feel and Frank’s own Underworld-esque vocals provide the perfect closing opus for Prooved Vol. 2

Indeed indeed !

Nice to see Motion and Space Safari..

A question now Christian : is the title of your track with Frank "connected" to the Gregory Issacs song ? (so nice one btw..)

Keeping an eye on this one, now

Lookin' good! Eelke Kleijn is a wonderful talent to keep your eye on - he will be going places. It's really nice to see him on this compilation. And the rest - super sweet.

Does that sound like Ali G or am I mistaken? Either way, it is definitely something he would say.

Looking forward to the release of what promises to be a fine fine progressive stomper.

I have a question, which one is the Vision & Canedy track and which one the D-Nox and Beckers? Is the one that's for the ladies that everyone is playing lately in their progressive sets from D-Nox and Beckers actually? I am just curious.           Load Universe into Cannon. Aim at Brain. Fire.
