People who start with "rules are rules" are often not the right people to talk to

If you read the whole thread, I think your questions will be fully answered.
I explained the reason why we had to draw a line somewhere, and after consulting people here and our team members we decided for these criteria, for the reasons I already explained. They show some seriousness and dedication. As I said, we'll give them a go for a few months, see how things work and we'll reconsider. Thanks for your feedback.

This sounds like a fair compromise. As Shahar notes, there will be a new netlabel promotion area for everything else. Who knows--perhaps the traffic in this new forum will grow to be as much as the "promotional releases" area? People love free music after all.
