It's time to move on to the next step in the psychedelic revolution. We've reached a certain point, but we're not moving any more.

I don't know, I think this album is extremely overrated. I respect Prometheus as a crazy talented musician, but I have a hard time finding much psychedelia in this.. personal tastes, really. I find myself getting bored, maybe I am just too young!

This will not stop me from seeing you + 'the gang' in Seattle though
Although, I do enjoy 'the man who swam through a speaker', and that is the best name for a track ever.

Although I'm not into everything on this album, I must say that Arcadia magik and Cherrie pie are some of the best pieces of Trance ever put on disc...visionary stuff!

Fantastic album. Finally some music from someone that actually knows what is psychedelic.

This album is full of detail and psychedelic perfection, but it doesn't suprise me that a lot of people don't get it. I think it takes a mature ear to really appreciate this one fully.

Huge respect to Prometheus.

wicked album... Kind of surprised me coz i am not into proggy stuff too much, but this is on the border of psy/prog, and in a very well manner. this album rox..

though in the track one cell short of a brain it kinda resembles X-DREAM out here we are stoned, this shifts different.

One bombing track after the other- my new favorite fot this time of the year.

well... what can i say, i listened to this album back when it came out in 2007, and wasnt really into it to say the least - but then about 8 months ago prometheus played a live show and this time i've actually stayed for his set (left the dancefloor @ ozora 2009 and didnt wake up for his set @ indigo 2009) and i was absolutely awed at the music that came out from the speakers... i literally felt like i was swimming in a sea of sound (had no idea about "the man who swam through a speaker" back then), but it didnt get me back to listening to this album again.

a couple of weeks ago i decided to give this album another go, and i have to say that this is by far one of the best artist albums ever produced, and by all means an absolute masterpiece, sonic manipulation of the highest level if you will...

i'll give a short track by track review, simply because words can hardly describe what his sounds do to your senses:

1) arcadia magik - what an opener... the hypnotizing part at the beginning gives you time to ponder as the subtle kick sneaks in, becomes a little playful, some new sounds lurking in, a dilemma is raised - and now the track really starts! really love how the hypnotizing melody that starts the track is leading the track now... and then come the smearing sounds of i dont know what, but its great, and the track starts building up to its climax - simply brilliant!!! cant really put into words what dancing to this track is like

10/10

2) one cell short of a brain - like whiterabbit here said, kinda reminiscent of x-dream's "out here we are stoned" - but only because of the lead, this one's different and is unique on its own, i love the way prometheus twists the sounds ala hallucinogen. this track is very groovy, yet twisted and hypnotic just in the right doses - leaving enough room for benji's playful arsenal of sounds... the sounds on this track (and pretty much the whole album) are so phat - that i think an order should be written on the CD, that it MUST be played on a serious sound system, or very high quality headphones to say the least.

9/10

3) drug sock - serious drive on this track, the sounds stretch and shrink all through the track and then let a lead crawl in which is accompanied with liquid crystal like sounds.
the wobbly sounds grab you by the ears and throw you from side to side, with the tinkering of the crystal like sounds running around... this is something special, but lacks a little something for me.

8.5/10

4) the logic of polyphonic - track begins with a sample thats gives a little hint about the mind twisting thats about to take place... sounds are thrown in, the kick shows up subtly, and then we are introduced to the PHAT PHAT PHAT bassline - this is how good a rolling bassline can sound like when its done right, by such a master like benji - this bassline gives the track much of its drive, and that goes to show just HOW GOOD the bassline on this one is, cuz the sounds are nothing short of amazing, just keep popping up panning from side to side and they are here to give the slightest clue about whats about to happen - a massive explosion, but then - a break, synths are on their own this time... and BOOM!!! the part that comes in 5:55 would simply throw a dancefloor in the air... what a climax! this track is an example of how good full on can be when done right... can't wait to listen to it on a massive dancefloor again!

11/10

5) 9th (the man who swam through a speaker) - dont think i can add more to what was said about this one... yet again benji shows his master skills in manipulating sounds and combining them with a funky driving bassline, but this time its riding a symphony (acid drenched symphony that is)! this is a pretty ambitious track - fusing classical music with psychedelic trance, in most cases the outcome would be either a cheesefest or a cacophony of sounds, but benji does it so well... arranging the classical parts so well with all the twisted sounds... nothing in this track is predictable. very energetic and dare i say sophisticated track... i threw a party 2 months ago and when this track was played (as a set closer) it just wreaked havoc on the dancefloor, people in 2010 dancing their asses off the beethobenji symphony! wonderful!

10/10

6) soma - benji takes the tempo down with this number, but the squelchy psychedelic sounds are not going anywhere... they are here to stay - this track leaves more room to float, especially when combining the sample, not a dancefloor track but still nice.

7.5/10

7) oz - also a lower tempo, but this time different - were introduced to a wobbly bassline (LOVING IT!!!) with crystalline soundscapes... now when i said i felt like swimming in a sea of sounds at the beginning of this review, this is exactly what i meant - those crystal sounds, wobbly bassline, all so subtle yet so precise, perfect for when you need to turn it down a notch, but still maintain the trip.

will never forget what this track did to me @ indigo festival 2010, it came right in the perfect time

9/10

8) cherry pie - did i say phat bassline in this review yet ? benji is simply a bassmaster! the sounds are playful and are sprinkled on the listeners` ears very gently, and then the bass comes for another round of funkyness... after that the track doesnt really evolve - this track didnt catch me as much as it did others, not to say that its bad, but this track comes after 7 great tracks so maybe theyve set my expectations too high.

7/10

Overall - 9.5/10 - a seriously amazing album, one of the best artist albums ive heard in the past few years and pretty much an eargasm! like previously mentioned, this album contains bombs one after the other, be it in your face full onish tracks or the subtle arrangements, this is just a must have album no matter what genre of psychedelic trance hits your spot... trance at its finest!
please do yourself a favor and this album justice - play it ONLY on a good sound system, you will miss out on so much of this album's potency if not. oh and one more thing - get yourself to a prometheus set whenever you can!

Arcadia Magik, The Logic Of Polyphonic and The Man Who Swan Through A Speaker are stuff of brilliance.
Its not your normal sounding kicks and basslines, by they do the job equally well...but his synth programming is deep and extremely psychedelic.
This falls under the "sweet-dark-psy-melancholic-bulldoser-driving into deep oblivion-trance-music" genre.

Peace out.
