ok, just watched the video. yes, this shit is pretty bland. this thread also made me go back and listen to Always Outnumbered... and i don't think that album is bad at all. Spitfire and Wake up Call are pretty heavy tunes. Medusas Path is pretty cool too. and the rest have their own charm, if you like electro type ish at all. at least they all have something that's memorable and with their own identity (melody, sample, etc).

I downloaded the Invader Must Die album a couple of days ago, and I have to agree that the album WILL grow on you, or at least some of the tunes will after some time. It's just that kind of growing music imo.

So I like it for what it is. ut jesh, we can't compare it to the older stuff pre FAT.

Btw. The Delux edition containt two extra tracks: Black Smoke and Fighter Beat

For me at least "Always outnumbered..." had better production and the music (whiile not good) seemed more a step forward, "Invaders.." its a step backwards at what they did in the 90's.

I took my copy back as it was too fatiguing to listen to. Digital clipping all over the place. 4dB dynamic range. Digital nastiness all over it. I did get a refund

Yeah, I noticed that too after I wondered why I could not stand listening to it for a longer period (ie more than once). I love playing the songs from Jilted Generation all day but Always outnumbered IS JUST TOO LOUD TO AAAAAHHAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a shame because the music is actually pretty nice.           http://enjoys.it

Am annoyed at you guys for even suggesting this one! Prodigy was dead to me when they released Girls/Outnumbered... especially re-sampling Firestarter... eeeuch. But this! ... this made me cry and smash my head on the dining table after a listen.

This was like deranged and washed out pop punk rockers digging up the corpses of the band and wearing their skin while parading about in pink frocks in case they're let into a Billboard TopTen cocktail party.

This is the kind of shit that causes people to get pissed off and create a counter movement. Ironically the reason why the Prodigy starting gigging in the first place.

Disgusting thud at the end of a fall of one of the musical legends of our time.

I agree           "The dedication to repetition — the search for nirvana in a single held tone or an endlessly cycling rhythm — is one of electronic music's noblest gestures."

this is a follow up of their last release but with a slightly more,, rave" approach

it grows on you for a while with random rare listens. then it settles with some jeee tracks and some ok abd a couple of skips. Then it stagnates. And eventually youll love or like a couple tracks. the album is Ok. its invaders must die

6.5/10 because it kicks ass.

aphex twin - come to daddy kicks more azz though

Heck yeah it kicks ass!
I don't get the comparison though... especially since Mr. James had released it and was already parading around in frocks back in 96-97. different vibe.

Did anyone even like this album on the first listen?

don't know about you guys but the experience, jilted generation and fat of the land felt flawless from beginning to end... that's why they were the prodigy!!!

Apperently Richard made Come2Daddy as a piss take on Prodigy - Firestarter.
He decided to do make fun of the Firestarter track which was quite popular at the time (97). Brilliant ey! hehe
