hello..i am about to buy a dsp card for my macbook pro..i am between powercore compact or uad...any suggestions?

We have a powercore, frequently using the compressor and megareverb. I wouldnt mind a uad-2 of course. A combination of both would be optimal.

I own a powercore PCI unplugged with
Access Virus and a UAD-1 with L2A2(compressor limitor) 1176LN(compressor) and Cambridge EQ (nice "surgical" EQ).

uad + : eqs; dynamic processors, reverbs : you need to buy extraplugins. Super stable device.

poco +: synths and reverb. There are extra plugins that are really good but quite expensive. Beware of the Virus plugin that does not work 100% ok (sync problems in particular). To my experience, the powercore is less reliable than uad.

Never had any issues with their powercore-drivers, done way to many formats over the years with diffrent setups not a single problem with the drivers.
And i have the Powercore Pci model as well.
