Good Mood is the Coca-Cola of the trance !!!!
They invented one good thing...but it became too comercial...and as matter of fact quite bad !
They sold 30.000 tickets at least at 95€ each...someone cares to do some math ???
It goes slightly bellow 3 million €...i would believe that with such budget, things could in deed be much better organized !
Shanti shanti is a good business!
We are all...gladly taking your money !!!!
thx

"Yes yes, very commercial festival, but they take a big cut which is why I charge 5 euros for a slice of water melon, and 9 euros for a veg taco".
That was part of a conversation I had with one of the food vendors. Although there were a lot of great things at boom, and many things that I didnt even have the time to go check out, the prices were insane and a lot of the organization seemed to be centered around this commercial 'lets rip as much money off these trustafarians as possible' attitude. Which stinks.
I was sold a boombus ticket at Madrid airport for 85 euros, given a wristband that was taken away a few minutes later and replaced with a little blue piece of paper. I was told this would ensure me getting a wristband at the venue so that my return journey would be sorted out. Once at boom (and the 8-10 KM walk later), I was told the piece of paper has no value, 85 euros was the one way price, and if I wanted a ticket to get back at the end of the festival I would have to buy a new one - for 100 euros. Needless to say I made my own way back, for half the price.
There definitely were positive aspects about the festival, including the super medical center/drug testing tent/area to calm those whose trips had gone out of control and some of the music. Was great catching up with the people that I hadnt seen in a long time.
Will probably not want to be part of this experience again though.

Just has a txt from some friends who bought Utopia tickets too with transport from Idanha a nova - they were told to make their own way there as no bus was available - they gave up and headed for the airport instead
What a load of wank GOOD MOOD turned out to be
They asked for a refund - answer was NO
Nice one Diogo
This really has turned out to be a money grabbing exercise, what with the non-transferable tickets from people who couldn't make it due to whatever reasons not being able to give their tickets to friends instead.
fuck you diogo - no more boom, you greedy man |

Sacred Fire liked.

Just came back and i think i'll throw my cent of complaints aswell
2006 was such a nice experience, and through all the journey home i was thinking of the positive aspects...unfortunately the list wasn't too long, whilst the negative points go on for quite a while
-The dancefloor no matter what....should be psychedelic...in 2006 it was a blast, this year if they made it under the restaurant tent it would have been more psy... brilliant structure and whatever....but i still missed the bright colours and the crazy fluo shapes wondering the dancefloor, you know...to stimulate magic drops
-prices.....do i need to go there?? i think i spent around 150 euros between restaurants/water/beer...with that i can live for more than a month in normal day life...when i saw 160 euros at the door i was thinking: WoW this year they're going to do something REALLY impressive...oh boy was i wrong...
-Music....Never expected anything suuuper ( i'm a dark listener) but my god...the muusic really sucked this year...even for full-on lovers imo. some good sets from Jun, spliffnick, irgum burgum jahbo and ocelot...the rest...kinda sucked. Dancfloor never really EXPLODED
-another stage??? worst idea imo...it's becoming too much of an actual "festival"...and now people will say that it doesn't have to be always psytrance...but it's always been like that....and people go there for that.....why change it?? and for people that say that all music should have a chance and it shouldn't be only psy...then why not have a nice metal/punk stage in 2010??? bring people together from different cultures...isn't that the spirit of boom???
Conclusion...Just keep it the way it's meant to be...1 main dancfloor for EVERYONE to have a killer time in, and the classic super chillout...basically...the two extremes of music....no need for anything in the middle..
-Transport...basically if you don't give them the money for boom bus...you're FU**ED...it will take you a DAY to get to the party and to go away from it...no mini shuttle service from castello branco and 3 taxi's going back and forth...whilst 2 busses would have done the job perfectly....and same thing to go away from boom, had to walk for nearly 2 hours under the sun to hitch a ride ( these new age hippies never stop...even with 3 available seats in the car )
-just a little moan beacuse im lazy... the distances between restaurants, shops dancefloors...was too big was everything that far away in 2006 or was i just less stoned ?? i went on the dancefloor the first day and my legs were already hurting...
-Bar, just a little pointless point to finish of my essay of complaints ....isn't it supposed to be an eco festival? then what's with those meters and meters of useless Paper tickets that they give for drinks?? use plastic tokens, pay at the bar....find another way lol ...
- a R.I.P for the two guys that didn't make it out of boom alive...but hey...there are 40.000 people....someone is going to be really sick or die...the cycle of life doesn't stop at boom
for the rest i had an alright time...mainly because the location is still unbeatable, and loads of friends were there not going to go in 2010 though...unless they sort out some major issues.
Catch you soon People!!!!!

wow wow wow
what a week! for a festival the size of boom i was amazed at the level of detail put into this event, from the water points to the stages to the music to the food. people will alway find something to complain about, whether it is the dust (natures fault) or the cost of food (people need to make a living) but i had the best experience at a festival ever, from dj'ing on the main stage after fearsome engine, which was the brilliant, to tripping around the place with my girlfriend laughing so much.
well done and thank you boom organisers, you know who you are.

We also must say, that this party is something unusual. Won't write about logistic, organization etc which was perfect from begining to the end. Having a strong feeling that this festival is a revolution we are extremely happy as a part of this phenomenon. Every track, every show, every move we do we want it to be different. And BOOM is essentialy in line with our philosophy.
Thank you all involved in this huge party, both organizers and people on the danceflor during our set.

the best fest in EUROPE and the best one with UNIVERSO PARALELLO.
this festival was a huge magic experience.
this festival was the best org i have seen in a fest with so much people...all of you know that.
everything was sublime, my eyes were amazed with so much beutifull art.
keep up the amazing work BOOM TEAM, and please dont listen to those unconstrutive comments from people that only want the bad for people who work serious and hard.
some of those people wasn't even there to see this amazing festival.
See you all in BOOM 2010
  Boom! |

Well, also I thought the festival was a bit too pricy!
Lines everywhere, which is quite annoying if you just want a fast snack or drink.
Enormous line at the atm machine, which was just redicilious.
I also don't think the music was that great btw.
Heard some very nice sets, but also quite a lot of very very boring dj-sets.
Especially the Groovy Beach floor didn't have much to offer in the daytime.
Question: did I see the Antix brothers perform the second night at the Groovy Beach Floor?
They don't appear on the lineup, but I'm quite sure it had to be them!?
Overall, I think it was a good festival, but I'm not sure if these festivals really do it for me, day after day after day, it kind of bores me hanging around doing 'nothing'.
