OK...there and back again!!!!
Sorry for all the people who couldnt get in
...the Boom org. should have been responsible for the unexpected number of people and find a solution for all that wanted to come in!!!! This being said, its always better to buy your tickects in advance...cheaper and safer!!!!
As i was reading some of the testimonies here left, i felt like saying something:
- Boom got bigger this year and thats a fact. But an unavoidable situation. The challenge, i believe, is to maintain the contraculture vibe. Mainstream woulkd kill Boom and its purpose.
- Already people are bitching about the deco and comparing it with other years...WTF? Different concept, different ideas!!! It was less appealling to your eyes maybe but dont summ it up as a way to save money...
- Dust is present in every Boom...you are either lucky with the wind or not...This year the number of shadows and green spaces was much bigger - got the point????
- only one thing pissed me off...the prices!!!! The Boom org. should do something about it or else all the permaculture concept/preaching is for nothing...
Im going to sleep...will talk a bit later about the music (better than 2006), the conferences and general feelings...
BOOM

I don´t know what to say, so many opinions, and many complaints. but I can only talk about my experience.
- We took he Boom bus from Madrid to Boom, because it was cheaper than train, and it was guaranteed to get us inside the boom, and highly advised by many people. Guess what!!! After 6 hours in the bus from Madrid to Castello Branco, the bus stopped at the entrance of Idanha nova, and we had to walk for 8 KM to reach the Boom, in the middlt of the night. it wasn´t vey pleasant because we paid 85 euros. I would understand that shit happens in festivals but at least some respect to the people who paid money and not getting what they were promised for.
- I heard many complaints about the deco, and how commercial this festival turned out to be this year. I really enjoyed the live performances, and the shows in the theaterooms more than the actualy music being played.
- I expected the groovy beach to play nice progrssive music, but most of the times it was playing hiphop. it was fun for a few tracks but then you get a bad trip.
- The location is truly amazing, sorry boom lake, but i had to take many baths in the lake because most of the times there was no water in the showers
- It was amazing seeing so many people getting together from all around he world to dance and have a good time. compared to other festivals i have been to, i think it was well organized. but as someone old schooler said to me there:`" GET A BUNCH OF PEOPLE, GIVE THEM PLENTY OF DRUGS, PLAY SOME MUSIC, AND A GOOD VIBE.. THEY WILL HAVE AN AMAZING TIME NO MATTER WHERE THEY ARE"
we left two days earlier because we thought it would also be nice to hang out in Lisbon.. what a great city |

2 ppl died, 1 drowned, 1 heart attack. too bad
i think that there wont b any more boom in idana-ha-nova. this is how it feels like.
the lake WAS infected - me n 6 ppl i know got magor digestion problems, i still puke n cant really eat for 3 days now
about the music:
i think that except for the morning full-on on the main floor the music was brilliant, al over the fest, n the big surprise for me was during 3:00-8:00 in the minimal floor. after the deep night sets in the main floor we crossed the dust to the smaller 1 every night at 4:00 to continue our mind journey till sunrise on the water...
ppl where beautifull as always, gr8 energies around.
the deco was pretty nice but after the last edition expectations were 2 high i guess. not really fresh n breathtaking.
i think this may be my last boom experience..

Yeah two people confirmed dead. One drowned on the way to Anti Boom and one died on the way to the hospital from the Festival area after a heartattack. I tought it was handled in a good way by the Boom organizers as they stopped the music in the middle of the day and announced to everyone on the mainstage. Death is a inevitable part of life and so it happend in Boom.
Some Norwegian friends of me and Kriz was treated really badly by the police inside the festival. They were litterally hijacked by 4 huge black guys and thrown into a car. They were not told what was going on and they only had a very little revealing boom id card to represent themself. So they actually thought they was kidnapped. But no this was just the police driving them out of the festival area in to the closest town were they was searched. They found smaller amounts of lsd and hasish and let them free, with the drugs..baarrhaarrr!
It is hard to describe my feelings about this festival because it is mixed. But i think Boom is an really important contribution to the collective conciousness of people living today.
You can dance in trance with 10.000 other people and then go to a workshop and be educated on whats going on that very dancefloor in terms of trance. It is security. Maybe after soom Booms you experience that you dont really need the acid to go monkeyboy either..It just a matter of getting into the trance..
My experience with the dancefloor was amazing. It was really filled with good energy and smiling people (except for the occational Ketamin junkie hirr=). I want to share my love with everyone who made an effort there. And especially to some Israeli guys who just went full on the whole time! Great energy!!
The only thing i really feel i can complain about (yeah it was expensive, but yeah it was really good, and yeah there could have been more deco, but did you complaining guys check out the chillout with the tiny villages and stuff ?). Hmm where was i ? Oh yeah, the really ONLY thing i want and feel like complaing about is the fact that live acts only went for 1 hour and DJ acts for 2 hours!! I dont see the logic in that at all..
Some of the liveacts played was really amputated by the short playtime... But o' wells!
Cant wait for UP!!!
BOOM ~out

I don't understand many of the comments here.
People had more than six months to buy the tickets, and at a cheaper price, but get pissed when a lot of people more than what was expected arrive, and they were forced to stop letting people in.
Main floor was huge and with crystal clear sound everywhere around it. Music was perfect, at least from 9h00/10h00 to the end of the afternoon. Tristan completely blew me way during his live act. But many others gave everybody excellent sets. Less deco but really great infrastructure.
Music on groovy beach featured different sounds, as Boom had announced. And hearing good progressive music was not hard. I heard Pena's set and also Anti, and good progressive was what I got. Also enjoyed very much Extrawelt and Loopus in Fabula.
Medical care was clearly and visibly present and seemed to me very efficient. A friend of mine made a nasty cut in one foot and in less than 10 min was taken care of.
Only one person died at Boom, and from heart failure. There was another death, caused from drowning, at the Anti-Boom, where they had no potable water, no showers, no medical aid, nothing. Just 200bpm music.
I bathed everyday in the lake and had no problems. But it not hard to imagine that still waters are not properly germ free cristaline water coming from the mountains. Just don't drink, or cook with it.
Boom is not a tropical beach festival, nor setted on a green north european location. It's located on one of the hottest regions in Europe. Surelly you will have dust and the Sun will be very hot during the day. On the other hand the landscape is stunning with a wide open space, where you can really fell the freedom that goes on there.
Sorry for all of you with bad experiences. Mine was very good and I look back with great joy.
Boom to everybody

Wise words...
Again im really sorry for the peolple who didnt come in but the org was "forced" to close the gates. Even so so many people entered "disguised"...thanks to the org. So people better choose your words carefully before you bash things down...
I drank, cooked from the "public water"...no problems with me. I also bathed 10 times a day...no problem also. I hope none's putting the blame in the org because of the Microbiological life of a lake...i remember lots of signs saying "no swimming here"...did everyone followed?
I never had any problems with the police in all the Boom Festivals but i recken that they happen. But as everyone knows Boom has to open its doors to all the law agents that want to come inside to "explore"...its in the law!!!!
The deco for me was not poor just not so much exuberant. I read someone's saying that the Chill out was miserable!!!! You must have been i some diffrent festival, amigo!!!!
Regarding the music, i was not disappointed. Besides the fact that the Groovy Beach was not so innovative as promised but with good atmosphere all along (Mainstream Hip-Hop and cheesy retro!!!), i still was taken back by Goth-Tard (Double WOW!!!!) and a solid set by Mr Gasparov...In the DanceFloor, my love goes to all the amazing people dancing there. Rastaliens, Mubali(High BPM and Groove can co-exist), Atriohm, Surya Namaskar, Behind Blue Eyes and (for me) a surprising Subconcious Minds where just perfect. Solid sets by Random, Menog(the drumming worked better as a visual effect),Ajja and Antagon. Unfortunatly i missed Ocelot, Jahbo and the Faggot's but higher purposes arouse....
Ambient wise, i have to say that strangely i was no so attentive as usual but the music was generally fine...and the views from the place, as always where amazing (relaxing to the sound of the water fountain...)
To many people inside for sure but what can you do???? The challenge is to "change" all the people who decide to come instead of letting them "change" the core vibe of this festival...
Boom team should do something about the pricing of things...general goods with 300% margins is not very permaculture like

wow, boom was crazy! musically was one of the best experiences of my life. highlights : wow,
artifakt live, paul ritch live, n.a.s.a. live, vazik dj set, ajja live, spliffnik dj set, extrawelt live, expander, random live, alex boshke dj set!!, rastaliens live!!, atriohm live!!, ocelot live!!, first stone live, tuffist, tetrameth live, the lineup and flow was great. i missed some acts i really wanted to see but i had to sleep some in 6 days, what a workout. thurs night friday morning was incredible, i thought i was going to take off into the sky during rastaliens. and the funktion 1 sounded great, those soundsystems live up to their hype, both stages. of course everyone will have their complaints, but managing 35,000 people at a festival is quite a task and hats off to boom for an amazing festival. most of the problems were due to irresponsible attendants and not the boom crew. it seemed there were alot of people there just for the party and not for the musical experience. thank you boom, heard some of the best music ive ever heard on one of the best soundsystems ive ever heard in one of the most beautiful locations ive ever been. and what an experience being surrounded by so many beautiful cool people from all over the world. already looking forward to 2010. love and light

@Danilovix
we havent drank the water or cooked in it. we all took like 15 swimms a day, n just some of us got it.
i come from a hot miditeranian country n that thing u said about lakes n rivers r just not true at all. in the last day we found out that they pourred sourage into the lake between the ppl. that is irisponsible n dangerous.
i dont mean to complain. it was an amazing experience that ill never forget. gr8 organization, best dancefloor time ever, butt still, we are sick now..8)
