since i have become a member of this forum i can recall ppl ( many times are the same ppl that strugle for PLUR) fighting,or at least debating in an intense way about full on vs prog,full on s dark etc etc....
it might had been fun in the begining,but now,after all those useless topics and fight it has become more than boring.WE(all of us that are involvled in electronic dance music) are supposed to be openminded persons 
sure many of the ravers out there,especially the younger ones are more passioned with a specific kind of psytrance but for me and many others who we grown up by listening to psy(and by teh name PSY i mean everything ,from goa gill,astral,hux flux to haldolium,SBK,atmos etc etc,this whole constant debate about music sub-genres is at least boring...
even if you dont like(or even hate,though i dought there are ppl among us that hate music,whatever style it is...),at least show some typical signs of civilization and stop bashing all the time this and that.too much negativity for nothing IMHO

I'm joining. I'm for every one will listen to whatever they want, interpret it how they want. There are people that a certain genre 'does it' for them, and there are people that find their truth in other one. Each one in his way, the thing is to respect the other's way.
Definitons should be done tastefully, i prefer almost and not to get into that.

When some of the pioneers of this genre, artist that have made ground breaking music and still could make it are making FUCKING CRAP.... with shitty vocals and cheezy melodies that sounds like they come out of a BARBIE commercial and let's not forget the guitar solos that sounds like they come from a Mentos commercial from 1992....
I shouldn't say anything... 
It's fucking heart breaking to listen to some artists and imagine what they could do if they put some fucking effort and thinking before start making a track...
And being an open minded person is also accepting the criticisms of other people even if it is boring in the end.

I agree that there're lots crap music, if we can call it this way, but i don't mind that's kind of trance that doesn't match my taste, maybe as a result of it few more people will be exposed also to different genres of trance? not a big deal to me.. anyway it's a matter of taste and it's impossible to argue about it.
A while ago there was a crap genre which is called 'nitzhonot', that crap genre brought trance to huge awareness and today many people support this scence.
I agree that people should know to accept criticism, the way to serve it is not less imporant. Moreover, the scence needs to a bit of patience and tolerance, a little bit of respect among each one, no matter the seniority, 'status' or even if you think some projects are total crap.
Lucky for us that among the distasteful repeatitive flock out there, there are quite a few very gifted musicians, that let their art go out with not so many rules!

many people takes music styles like a ticket identity
human need be acepted by the society around him
for that reason everyone choose theire "ticket identity" to show to others, i know many dudes who "likes" minimal techno because they thinks that style is more "elevated" more "artistic" and they thinks if they listen and demonstrates to others taht they listen, they becomes "elevated and artistic" identity hehe. |
