Paying for their Girlfriends too?

Lately something new has begun to happen while booking major Psy acts.
Not only do they wish to be paid very well (anywhere from 1000 to 3500$) some times asking for hotel and food and 5 star hotels but now I am receiving an increasing amount of requests to fly non-members of the band out with them (girlfriends/lovers/sisters cousins best friend) Listen up. Promoters are not responsible for flying out your girlfriend when we book you. You want to bring her along? Pay for it with the thousands of dollars I’m paying you already. Most promoters in my country DO NOT MAKE MONEY. We do it for love. So if you want to have your lady friend along, great. Pay for it yourself.
Do it for love.

Great solution: Don't book major psy acts. They're mediocre or shit without exceptions anyway. |

I say organizers blame yourself.
You have paid these wannabe "superstars" way way to many money for a long time. They arrive put in their CD or push the button and get Euro 4 -6000 and some even much more for 1.5 hour playback.
Then they get 6 star hotels, all food paid, royalty treatment etc.
Blame yourself. You have turned them into BIG Diva's
Cinos got the solution. Stop booking them and show the party people there are many many artists out there who are more reasonable, non-Diva's and in 99.9% much more interesting musicwise.
You really do not need the Diva's on every single party you make. It might come as a groundbreaking surprice to you but people actually do like variated music made by artists that are not in the top 20 VIP Superstar Society. If only the organizers give them the chance to listen to it  |

Sorry but what you say Doctor Robert is not true at least from my own experience.
I have made more than 150 bookings of major artists in this scene from 2002 till today and noone ever asked me to pay the expenses for his girlfriend,boyfriend or whatever and once and only once someone asked me to bring his wife over but ofcourse on his own expenses and just because i wanted to be a good host i payed from my pocket everything apart the flight ticket.
I dont know which artists ask for such things but i bet they are not more than 5 artists and i am trying really hard to think who they could be since like i already said i have worked with most of them.
In any case if an artist asks you for such things then just ignore him and work with someone else.
By the way artists getting very good treatment with a good hotel,good food and drinks,a nice car and a driver for their transportation and anything else is not bad at all from my point of view.I mean an artist is a guest and one should treat his guests the best possible.If some of the guests dont appreciate this treatment or ask all the time for more then either talk the matter with them or just stop working with them.From my own experience when i treat people good they are more than happy about it and makes my communication with them very easier the next time i want to book them thats why many of them dont even ask me about their fee when i call them for a booking since they know that all will be ok.
Its at least unfair to say that todays psy trance artists act like Divas or something,out of the 1000 artists out there just 5-10 of them must act like that so its unfair to characterize the rest because of this non existent minority.

well said detox... My organiser also never had a bad experience with a big name act. On the contrary, once after a horribly failed party where he lost 1000s of euros and we couldn't pay our big act immediately, and they didn't complain once!! It took 3 months to pay the entire amount he owed them and they didn't mind at all and stayed friendly all the time!! They didn't even complain about the fact that they had to play for less then 100 people... |

@ detox....very true...have got down couplf oe dj's as well... and they've had their girlfriends along with them...but neverhave they asked us to pay for their expenses or watever...and as detox said...giving them good hositality isnt bad atall...on the contrary it gives them a good impression and they look forward to workin with you more...there r always exceptions....JUST IGNORE EM!

From my point of view i think Detox is 100%
right .. All are sound like taking from a legend
Lets stay human being , Dont think that is any
cause or reason behind this , I know labels &
partys orgenaizers are doing the best for the
all artist and dj that they booking into a party
and taking care of everything they need . Dont
think they should pay for anyone not for the
guy grandpa not for his dog and not for his
private parrot . They do enough belive me ..
Never heard of any case of an artist like this
before . Maybe there is 1 or two so its realy
strange that you find them in hundreds and
we dont ..... Pls let us all know where those
guys/girls are hidden .. Thats realy curious
and interesting and effrontery .
I dont belive that ! .

artists give u muzik that u come to listen.... give them the best hospitality and they will come again for u........
they know wat expenses are like... and if they wanna bring their girlfrends.... they do pay for it....

anyways... let artists be treated like the most special peeps of the event...coz they are the ones who enlighten every moment of ur festival / party....

sometimes they do have a friend or some1 travelling
but then if ur paying for htier airfare visa etc ... deduct it from thier set fee .. thats whart we do when we are in such a situation
depends how well you gel with the artist .... we often book them and they stay at our houses or friends houses
also we book artist we know well and have a good rappo with
if soem act demands to many things and u cant provide those then book another act .. theyr soo many anyways
