what stuff do you like to get at parties from the organizers for free? granted- the sound, deco and artists are a given.
what has surprised you?
what made you smile?
what didnt you like?
what do you think could be best if it was given.

i'll start-
in israel my favorite things were to get a cold watermelon slice in the morning  or a popsicle (kartiv) after dancing all night... this was always great

If I havent heard of the artist playing at the organization, I like getting promotional cd's. I think it would be beneficial for both sides as the listener gets to know the sound of the artist better and the organizers would benefit from this in the long term, getting the listener more familiar with the artist.

I dont refer to getting the deco / artist / sound as freebies... I've paid for that.
I also prefer less freebies, more quality, but that's a different subject.
Cool freebies:
watermelons, water, melons, (yes, been to a party with free that!), other fruits, chai.
but usualy, I avoid the freebies. just let me dance peacefully, will ya?

A usual feature of our events is fresh fruit and promo CDs from local artists and DJs... sometimes we have tea as well.
Free = good. Toronto has a rather vibrant underground with an ideology that promotes free events... so often we're trying to figure out how we can throw events where there's no need to charge anyone... you might think this would end up with shabby parties but the Freespace collective here has done some amazing events with their Yurt - now we've been able to party outdoors in the Canadian winter. Not too shabby
Also, if any artist, dj, or producer is travelling to Ontario this summer we have a free 5-day festival in July you may be welcome to have a spot at... the land is beautiful there are many stages with diverse sounds (certainly not all psytrance)... see www.freespace.cc for some more info on the Teknival.

I think a lot could be added to parties to make an experience not to forget
Fruit in morning os also welcome, in summer ice cream are also a great thing
In outdoor parties some times they offer little individual containers to put the rests of the spliffs and not trow them to the floor, thats really nice
CDs of the bands doing the live acts is also good, i think that should almost be a "must" at least for the first 50-100 arrivals or so...
Other thing (for bigger parties) would be like some roling paper with the logo of the organizer, or somthing like that...
Also some parties give chocolates which is good
Anything is welcome!But lots of things can be added!
"Free" is just that word we all love, it appeals to everyone

the answares u can get for a simple quastion... 
i dont know about the cd's... i would prefer something that gives a "family" concept and not something to promote... sure it will be nice to have one but its just my opinion...
chocolate is good... fruits as well... but at the moment its so cold that i can only think of a sweet chai to warm the body... or a round of coctails (with small shainy umbrelas) to warm the heart

i agree, i love getting fruit in the morning... it just gives u added energy after a long thumping evening
its just nice if the organiser takes it one step further, kinda like a 'thanks for being here, we appreciate your patronage' sorta thing.... builds good PR i my opinion... he he ZeRo goof idea |
